You probably should as they will wonder where the goat went or what happened to it.
If they were that concerned before they deserve to know.
I did not and now, based on the wisdom of your post, regret not doing so.

Great insight, Scott, which I will not forget as the inevitable march of farm life continues.

I didn't all the posts as I am getting too tired nowadays, but I have a recording of a pretty funny song about a beautiful breed and here is a link to it: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDyL1TYaGeU", this should post as it is NOT porno in any way!

There are been many interesting impacts relating to the 7.0 earthquake we had in November. Here is one of the more humorous and it relates to how sensitive dogs are:

Posted on Twitter by Alaska Earthquake Center:

Overheard in the newsroom: A staffer's friend apparently started giving her dogs treats following aftershocks so they wouldn't be scared. It has backfired hilariously, as her dogs have become so sensitive they wake her up in the night demanding treats after a 2.0 aftershock.

My dog knows the sound of the cheese drawer in the refrigerator. I can go to the fridge and open the salad drawer - nothing. The vegetable drawer - nothing. The cheese drawer - POW! she's suddenly standing right next to me. How the hell does she know? They all sound the same to me . . .

We always eat out on Friday night. The dogs somehow know Friday is here before we do much of anything. By the time the TV is turned off, they are at the back door wanting a last ear scratch or assurance we really will return.
