The Bandit has passed

It seems that Burt Reynolds has passed at 82.

Keep going Bandit!

Dang.. Jupiter Florida's boy gone.

I may have to go to his old restaurant next weekend in tribute. I am out of town this weekend otherwise I would go now.

I will try to grab some pics and tell the story, its pretty cool.

Burt was a cool guy, did a lot for the local community.

RIP Burt.

Not a Burt feature, more of a Don Rickles feature, this is more about Burts laugh, it was the best.

I remember seeing his face on some of the commemorative FSU stadium cups, back when we briefly lived in Tallahassee. I think his nickname was "Buddy".

Long live the black Trans Am.

BeyGon 09-06-2018 11:27 AM

I liked him as the blacksmith in Gunsmoke.

herr_oberst 09-06-2018 11:31 AM

I guess I'll be watching Boogie Nights tonight.

Let's be honest, Burt solved the ultimate question: Ginger or Maryann.

He did both;)

Hooper. The rocket car and tribute to stuntmen everywhere.

Burt owned an estate nearby in Loganville, GA years ago. The home is now the country club of the development that was built later on after he sold.

He was scheduled to play the role of George Spahn (of Spahn movie ranch) in Quinton Tarantino's new movie "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood". It's supposed to be based on Burt and Hal Needham's bachelor days partying in Hollywood during the Charles Manson killings.

craigster59 09-06-2018 01:09 PM

Burt and Hal...

It's hard not to remember Burt without remember Norm McDonald's incredible parody of him.

I recommend the Nedham autobiography "Stuntman" for some funny behind-the-scenes stories on Burt. I was a fan and still wear a "Burt Reynolds Ranch" belt buckle from his Jupiter property.

Burt is one guy that always seemed to me having a good time. His visits to the Tonight Show are classics.

That is why I posted that video, his laugh is contagious and real.

I live about 25 miles north of where he lived and never heard a bad word about the man.

He was well loved by the locals.

I hope to get to his old restaurant next weekend and will take pics and repeat the stories I was told. Good stuff.

While the place is in new hands, it was not changed in decor at all, the new owners, years ago, felt Burts vision of the place should remain in tact, now more than ever.

jcommin 09-06-2018 06:16 PM

Not to disrespect, but he was over-rated as an actor.

pwd72s 09-06-2018 09:18 PM

Like Sinatra...he did it his way.

WPOZZZ 09-06-2018 09:36 PM

Snowman, I'm 10-8, 10-10, 10-7 and on my way to your 20. Bandit out!
