No idea. I suspect a few of the appliances have made it to the 5-10 year mark. All of my vehicles are always used. Most of them for many, many years were <$5k with the bulk of those being less than half that. They are all DD, so have always been 15k-30k mile/year cars too.
My current car, 08 Boxster S, has <39k miles and is still in great shape and we plan to keep it like that, so there's no end in sight for that at 4 years. |
20 years on my 91 Maxima SE. Sold it with 340k on the clock. That car was a runner and I’d probably have to think hard if I ran across another that was a low mileage granny.
I’m at 18 and counting on my 2000 Cherokee. That’s my second vehicle with the 4.0. Had an 89 Comanche Eliminator with the same 4.0 that I’d STILL own if I hadn’t been TBoned in it. |
My Norton...35 years;)
|
My current daily driver breaks my record every day, 27 years and counting. 361,000 miles and going up virtually every day.
My 911 is just at 23 years. I had my first Porsche, a 74 914 2.0 for 25 years. Bought it brand new. Since 1974 I have had just three cars, I still own two of them. Disclaimer: I don’t count my wife’s cars in that list even though my name is on the title. They are her cars. |
I bought my ‘56 Speedster in September 1973 and I bought my ‘56 coupe in October of that year, so 45 years is the longest by a month.
|
54 for the 55' 190.
17 for the Tahoe affectionately known as "The Ho". 16 for the 911 |
24 years now with the 911. my average is about 5 years for "normal" cars/trucks
|
My first car, my 59' Austin Healey 100-6 which I got in 1975. So that make it 43 years.
|
Had my 1981 Scirocco S for 19 years. Sold it when I bought the 911 as not enough garage space and I couldn't bear to park it outside under a cover.
911 has been mine for 18 years and will probably be my longest owned car. |
I owned my 930 for nearly seven years, that's the longest. The 993 is quickly approaching six years...
|
My Ferrari 512 boxer for 19 years and still going strong. Sold my 930 after 15 years. Miss her terribly.
|
11 years for my 911
45 years our 1930 Caddy has been in the family. Daily drivers, 3 years at the longest. |

I may buy/sell many cars, but have lived in the same house for 24 years, and have only ever lived in 4 different houses in my life |
It's obvious I'm going to lose this discussion.....:D
I think the 240SX that I had in high school is the longest at 4 years, sold it to buy a truck because I was doing construction at the time. Sadly I haven't had a lot of cars that have been nice enough that I wanted to keep them. Most have been projects that I've been able to sell and do ok, but few have been keepers. I had no plans to sell my RX-7 and 911 recently, and only did so to pay off my house. Such is life. |
bought new 1995 Chevy Suburban - drove 20 years, only 225k miles, nothing wrong with it - was stolen 2015
|
39 years.
70 Triumph Bonneville. 19 states, 2 countries. Still riding every nice day. |
23 years in a C1500. This won't count but we have my FIL's WWII jeep that he bought in 1960.
I have a Nishiki bike I bought in the 70's that I ride. |
15 Years : 73 VW Thing, sold it with 240,000 miles on it for 10X what I paid for it :-)
16 Years : 75 VW Bug, sold after the rust came back, the engine threw a rod and I needed a DD with AC in NC 12 Years : Current 82 Targa |
34 years with the 911S.
but finally sold my old '77 Power Wagon I bought new earlier this year...guess I had it longer. I tend to be monogamous with vehicles |
Had one Vette 14 years and another 17 years. 230,000 and 172,000 miles. Have a Cayman and a truck that I think are keepers.
