Seattle, Cle Elum area, what's the temp of your cold water

Folks up in the area, how cold is the cold water coming out of your faucet right now?

I was just up there for a week. I spent time in a hotel in Seattle, a fantastic BnB in Carnation and a cabin at Lake Cle Elum. In each location, I took at least part of a shower in full cold. It felt REALLY cold. Our cold water here is 75°. I'm assuming the water in those locations is currently 55-65°, but I'd love to know what it actually is if anyone has a thermometer and a little time to stick it in their cold water.

The trip was fantastic, BTW, and we could see moving to the area.

Not exactly accurate, but a good indicator for ground water temps is under-ground year-round temps, in a cave system or similar. Totally wrong in places with geothermal hot spots, extreme depth, etc.

Here in N Fla, our springs (and my well water) is 72 year 'round.

Handy map I found on a site about setting your water heater temps -

Also realize some places in the SW import their water from miles away through open sunshine culverts.
Some underground springs might originate from varying heights as well.
Many variables there.

My grandpa in early 1900s Indiana dug into a natural spring below his abode and created a house A/C swamp cooler loop when ice boxes were still around.
Berms or earth-sheltered houses go a long way in tapping into the constant 60deg below the surface.
Eskimos can heat an igloo with a candle.

A little engineering makes a lot of sense..

Steve: If you think that was cold in the cabin, you should have swam in the lake....

Yeah, I wanted to, but the couple of times that I made it down there, I wasn't really outfitted for it. We walked down to the water on Mon. Some sort of pickup, maybe a nissan or something nearly got stuck. Tue, we walked down to the edge of the "lake" near the club house, but not all of the way down to the water. At least the lakes are low for a good cause. I read that it's for irrigation due to the drought.

I'm about 98% sure that we flew over Lake Cle Elum when we left. It was pretty cool to see it from the air.

I miss the tap water in Seattle. It was so good. The water in Ohio in like chlorinated pond water. Just horrible.
