Thanks. It's a jealousy thing on my part.

I find it an enjoyable hobby. My ultimate goal would be to whittle things down to just one or two bikes one day. One would be an enduro. The other.....maybe an Interceptor (?) Cross that bridge when I get there..... I will say this however.....all these V4's I bought I feel very good about snagging them when I did. While I wouldn't call them rare......you really don't see them for sale all that often. Especially the ones I bought that didn't need anything. Those were good scores! |
I like the blue.
When can we see a photo spread of all them together Baz? |

I just finalized the transport so just a matter of waiting for delivery now. Guess this will be my Christmas present to myself! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1733760116.jpg |

Ken Kaplan had a couple bikes recently I would have liked. Space is now an issue... I go with the Jay Leno philosophy which was to just buy what you like. Not try and outguess any market... Only two bikes seems so far in the rear view mirror now... |

My neighbor is in town. His house here is his beach house, so he's not here all the time. I walked over to see his '77 Moto Guzzi 254. What a beautiful bike! His collection is now at 58. He buys and sells mostly through Mecum Auctions and told me his goal is to drop his inventory by about 30 bikes come January. He has a guy to keep his polished and I don't. He also has a guy where he lives that works out of his house to do any mechanicals. I don't - although I do use a mechanic here in town sometimes for things beyond my expertise. I'll post a few pics later but for now this is that model he has......250 w/4 cylinders and 4 carbs! <iframe width="718" height="404" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ymrs20r6bFw" title="Moto Guzzi 254 - 1980" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Yeah, it was kind of crazy, but that Harley police bike that he did the video on a couple days ago looked really cool to me, and I'm not sure why. And I'm not that into the big Harleys.

^^^like checking out a mistress you could never afford...and wouldn't be able to handle even if you could. But lovely nonetheless.
I'm guessing 190hp and barely 400 lbs. |

Nice collection of VF750's Baz, I've still got just one, 83 model that's bone stock including a replacement factory exhaust my brother bought for it after the original rusted out.
They have a very unique sound and are very smooth with the V4 motor. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1733853116.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1733853116.jpg My son's 71 Triumph mismatch came home from Oregon looking like this http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1733853116.JPG It was originally a Trophy model that had been rebuilt into about 3 colors of red, a horrendous rear fender and oddly painted front fender. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1733853116.jpg After getting it running in its mis-matched state I asked my son what he imagined as a finished bike. Black on black and a more Bonneville-ish design is what was settled on http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1733853116.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1733853116.JPG I'm pleased with it, he decided to leave it here rather than taking it down to LA where he's living with me as a care taker. The difference between the V45 and this old Brit bike are night and day- left side shift vs right, kick start vs electric, disc vs drum etc... however, The Triumph is more comfortable, loud and gets more thumbs up out on the road. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1733853116.jpg |

Guys in high school had RD350's. Took one for a spin once and you could lift the front wheel at 60 no problem. Big jump from my CB350 that I was driving at the time. |

I've never been interested in these big cruiser bikes myself, either. But there was an old Aspencade I'd see here that I thought would be a cool ride to have - for those occasions you just wanted to get out and cruise! Quote:
Hey Skip....nice work on that Triumph! Looks fantastic! And your V45 looks fantastic, as well. Having a nice exhaust system is a pretty big deal for these Interceptors....as is the case for all bikes, for sure. I still haven't got my '84 V45 sorted out yet (fuel pump I think) but with it's twin Kerkers, it's gonna be a blast riding her around! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1734043529.JPG |
Kenny with an Aspencade, a newer model year than the old ratty one I used to see around here.
What a bike though, huh? <iframe width="718" height="404" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8IirHn0g8sk" title="10th Anniversary Limited Edition #470 1991 Honda Gold Wing GL1500 Aspencade" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Just took delivery of the new Interceptor.
Beautiful bike! Will need some work - carbs, brakes, clutch, and new tires. Nothing I can't handle. This is my third Blue '87 and is in better condition than the other two, so I'm pretty stoked to have acquired her! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1734374240.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1734374240.JPG |
