Not so much, just paid attention and from past experience it was easy to know what was going on...

It is a pattern of human behavior...We could start talking about the old ways and collective memory....

The SI article I read explains a lot about his injury and his strange relation he had with his father. Probably find it online.

Tabs, this voluminous typing and vitriolic criticism of Tiger makes me think that maybe there is just a touch of underlying racism in you, or possible just jealousy.

Sure, Tiger was arrogant in his prime...But so was/is Micheal Jordon, Sebastian Vettel, Babe Ruth, Tom Brady, and 90% of other sports superstars who dominated their games...and NOBODY dominated a sport like Tiger dominated golf.

In the words of Jack Nicklaus; "Why doesn't everybody just relax about Tiger and appreciate that we are watching the greatest golfer who ever lived".

And you're wrong about his injuries all coming after the 9 iron to the windshield event. Tiger blew his ACL during his US Open win in June of 2008. He first reported back trouble in December of 2008. His wife attacked him in Nov 0f 2009.

You admittedly do not golf. I'm sure it's a humbling experience for you, and not behind the veil of a computer screen. I play everyday, and I can measure how good Tiger was. To win, at 42, after what he's been through is an unbelievable accomplishment. He beat the new generation of elite players who are in their early 20's.

Maybe you're a little jealous that Tiger is built light a NFL tight-end, travels the world banging beautiful girls by the dozen, and worth nearly $1BB. I can understand your issues considering your only chance of touching what he has is via this...;)

I am very happy for Tiger and most of the golf world is happy. He brings a lot of money to each game he is in, yes, he is that good. I remember watching him hit shots that everyone was amazed at. The only people that might not be happy are those that lose some spot light. Like the guy that won the fed ex Championship last Sunday, what's his name, but I think he won 10 million so he will get over it

Justin Rose, from the UK. He was number one in the world until yesterday. Tiger beating him in the FedEx championship enabled Dustin Johnson to take the number one spot back.

Sorry gents, I gotta agree +100 on this.
Although, I would go 'Piece of Garbage.'

I'll just leave this TRUE story right here for y'all.

Hope he NEVER wins another major EVER again.

More stupidity everyday....^^^^^!

I don't quite get why you get so upset about what I have said about Tiger? There is NO VALUE judgement in it. It is just what he does, I could be saying that the sky is blue for that matter...what I say is matter of fact and not a value judgement. You make a BIG MISTAKE there, which indicates that you have some emotional attachment that has set you off and it has nothing to do with the Tiger. Press a button and the monkey jumps.

I have played golf at one point in my life nearly everyday. I want to start hitting the ball again..So you are wrong again...

HOWEVER my comments have nothing to do with Race, Golf, Success nor Money BUT ABOUT THE HUMAN CONDITION....I could say the same things about you or anybody..it makes no fking diff to me...it is what it is..and is the way the world works.

My further Postings have little to do with the Tiger, but is a reflective response to KC911's comments..it is descriptive of a thought process. The ABC's so to speak...

Your Race comment is such an ABOMINATION that it is too horrible to contemplate.. you are pandering to political correctness to make brownie points...shame on you. I have no respect for you, and would wipe you off the bottom of my shoe if I stepped in you. This is such ignorant loser territory on your part.

Tigers injuries prior to 09 did not stop him from winning...after 09 he won virtually nothing. He went into eclipse...

Lol...Tabs you are a piece of work. Sometimes entertaining.

He is good
He is good for golf
He has always been able to pull off some unbelievable shots
He is interesting
He makes golf exciting
He is really good and he will win more
yeah, he's that good

Steve Carlton 09-25-2018 10:45 AM

All good except for his character.

"Sometimes" covers a lot of ground apparently...I have never read a Tabs post (guns and antiques excluded) that wasn't full of gradu: The Boy can't make a point with a pitchfork.

Tiger? Every young gun on the tour is thanking the Golf Gods that Tiger is relevant again. The Tour has been a complete Wasp show the last five years. The Tour needed an infusion of something other than the Brooks, Justin or Jason's of the world.

Sorry if that offends but Tiger is the only metric that matters and all the other golfers know it.

Redemption dramas sell.

BTW, I will throw no stones...

scottmandue 09-25-2018 02:08 PM

Not a golf player but I gave it a shot because my dad loved to play and figured it would be something we could do together. After practicing and getting lessons never got the knack (or desire) for it but I can appreciate the skill required to play at a pro level.
As far as Tiger sure he got knocked down a few pegs but hats off to him for fighting his way back into the game.
Of course pro golf loves him, a lot of people will tune in because they love him... a lot will tune in because they hate him... bottom line a lot of people will be tuning in.

The TV ratings for this Tour Champion event was a 200% increase over last year. The only difference was Tiger.

Like you said above...50% of the increase was people who still love him, and 50% was people watching because they wanted to see him implode. Either way, golf benefits.

BeyGon 09-25-2018 02:24 PM

either way, nobody draws the crowd he does and I never hear any boos from it

javadog 09-25-2018 03:19 PM

I became a golfer in the late 60's and tournaments were on the weekend TV schedule, every weekend. I grew up watching all of the icons of my generation (Palmer, Nicklaus, Player, etc.) and have fond memories of them. Having said that, I think the golfers today are far better players, on average, and I think Tiger is the best to ever play the game. I don't think he'll beat Jack's record but I think he was more skilled and more determined, in his prime.

I'm happy that he won again, I hope is just the first of many more.

I give Tiger a pass on what he does off the course. His life can never be normal and I'm not going to tell him how to live it. I am disappointed to hear some of the negative comments here.

Enjoy watching him, if you love golf; worry about something else, if you don't.

Here's Tiger ,,,,,, the REAL one.
Everybody has a right to their opinion... If you're a fan, good for you.
But, you have to realize this dude is not the most likeable to a vast number of us.

Read the military Luncheon story I posted above. What an embarrassment he is...

I've read that story before. It's been around for years. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. I have no idea.

You're entitled to your opinion, if you want to come off looking like an *******, be my guest.

Have you ever lived with serious chronic pain g_vaxed? When that picture was taken Tiger could barely get out of bed with a 12MM herniated lumbar disc. He was addicted to pain meds and just trying to get through the next day. He was not drunk, tested negative for weed,, meth, and coke, and his positive toxicology results were legal prescriptions.

Tiger was drilled by his father to play golf from the age of two. He didn't have a normal childhood, no dating, no high school parties. He married the first girl he slept with. I forgive him for screwing everything that moved for a few years. It was a mistake and hurtful to his wife, but he's human.

Oh, don't forget, he's raised almost a billion dollars for charity, and given almost $100MM of his own money to his foundation.

As for the military story...I'm sure its about as true as the liberal media's accusations of Trump, bird flu, Y2K, etc.

Tab's is our beloved resident pseudointellectual, contrarian, and conspiracy theorist. I expected unsupported Tiger hatred from him. I guess I don't know your motives...LOL...but you are entitled to your opinion.
