SEC settlement with Tesla/Musk

He steps down as Chairman of the Board and Tesla and Musk pay $20M each. He remains CEO.

Not sure this is going to solve the issues with Tesla.

Its a slap on the wrist but a step in the right direction.

The assumption is that he agreed to this because he saw the handwriting on the (stock market) wall.

I thought that investors were supposed to be big boys and girls, able to assess market information.

Imagine if politicians got dinged each time they said something misleading.

With his remaining as CEO, nothing in the operations will change. This is ultimately bad for Tesla.

If he had to drop being CEO, the board could have brought in someone from a real car company to get things fixed.

In the long run, I think the Tesla car line is sold to regular car company. The only reason the stock is where it is, is that there are a limited number of shares being traded.
