Pelican forums "Not Secure?"

Correct, delivered via plain text HTTP and not SSL/TLS wrapped HTTPS

You have http and https.

Sometimes content, usually graphic files, end up languishing in http directory.

That will throw a flag but really does not mean a whole hell of a lot.

Chris - That link works fine for me, but when I log in, it goes to the non-https location/url.
Is that to be expected?

Yes, it does revert back to http after login, unfortunately.

If you just add back the 's' it'll continue using that (but there's no real security risk, the forum accounts don't have any ties to our ecommerce system).

There are several times in connecting from your home computer to a forum such as Pelican or any other that you guys might use. For example I use NMLRA, CastBoolits, ChevyHHR and even gunbroker. So what are the places of concern:
- Your home router and the mode of security?
- Your ISP and how ofter do they watch what you do?
- The internet connection such as mentioned, I.E. http or https?
- The server where the forum resides and how often does their admin look at what you do?
- Finally the forum itself which usually has a database behind it, is it Oracle (best) or MySQL (free), ETC so the info you post can easily be stolen. The https is a very small part of the overall security worries you should have.
