Win 10 update fail
 

Anybody still got auto update turned on?

Yep. On all 10 of the computers we own.

ffiw, Windows 7 update KB4457144 isn't working
(I also had high cpu/fan usage which reinstalling MSSE fixed)

My Dell Insperion died 3 days after the last Win 10 auto update. The charging port would not take the prescribed 24 watts and the battery expired, along with 4 years of my data - I know, my fault.
Now crawling my way through Chrome on my new HP.

Only reason I asked is I'd read/heard that the latest monthly update caused personal data to be deleted.
I don't use Win 10, I'm on Win 8.1.

I once had an old Inspiron that my son used in college. I think the input port for the power broke on the motherboard. I now use that hard drive as a stand alone drive in a little device that hooks it up via a USB port.

Going to a customer site this week to reinstall 10 as it wiped one of their systems...
