Porsche Boxter Makeover

I am looking for a Boxster or 911. I saw the most incredible looking car that I believe uses a Boxter or 911 donor.

Please let me know if you have a 2008 to 2012 Boxster for sale. Salvage is ok as well. Thanks

Well, then I guess I would use a Boxster donor.

Not my thing, but looks mid-engined, so yeah, probably boxster.

First of all, it's Boxster with an "s" in the middle.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_Boxster/Cayman
Quote:
The Boxster's name is derived from the word "boxer", referring to the vehicle's flat or "boxer" engine, and the word "roadster", referring to the vehicle's two-seater capacity and convertible top.
I think it's interesting to see such cars myself, but I was also a fan of many of the kit cars and dune buggies of the 1960's-70's.

One of their other models the Vendetta looks to use a Lambo donor.

I guess any complaints in the past about low production sports car (kit cars) being improperly derived DNA including Cobra look-a-likes based on Fox Mustang parts bins is being addressed here.

I find of interest other parts bin cars, of course that is going to be not everyone's cup of tea, but some of these Frankencars are interesting, example below.

818C kit car packed with Tesla and Volt components is a drag racer's dream

Back in 2011 Factory Five had a design competition, nobody liked the design guidelines and many failed to follow them (was not low enough, not long enough, driver not cab forward enough etc...). I soon discovered it was spot on to the Boxster's dimensions even though it was supposed to be a custom cage with a Subie motor. My point being, some of the guys came up with stuff similar to Vex and it was fun if not impressive.

So from that background story and vantage point I like the Vex but see no need to molest a perfectly good Boxster.

Like the delivery of so many products or services, it is that last mile that often proves the most difficult. For this car's designers, the front/grill was clearly their last mile.

Very Italian looking, I guess the selling point is Lambo looks with German engineering.

I clicked around and didn't see a price?

I suppose I would drive one if someone gave it to me, but if I wanted a Boxster with hardtop (and I do) I would just get a Caymen.

I assume it's supposed to be like the new Lexus and VW models that look like they have a huge grill.

the ''best kit car '' I have seen in person

was a ''real'' m6gt body built by/for McLaren
they had 50 built to go on m6 racers to make m6 can-am cars gt eligible
but the FIA said NO TO THAT PLAN
so the real bodys became surplus

but sadly he had put on a VW bug pan and running gear
the guy thought it was a real McLaren and priced it at $25k in the mid 80's

you could build one of the m6gt replica's that used a steel unit frame with a real v8 for less
at that time

"ROLFMAO!"

Weird, I can't just post "ROLFMAO!" by itself and have the all caps stay. The site seems to edit it to "roflmao!"

But in the quotes it takes, very weird.
