Random Pics & Transportation Threads

I am unable to open these threads & cannot find the thread that suggested solutions to this problem.
I had first experienced problems when I couldn't log on to Pelican through either
of these threads but was successful choosing another topic.
Any advice please.

Cheers
JB

You can view everything up to page 2073 of the RTP thread, odd.

My computer and iPad say “too many redirects “ when I try to open those threads. I have no idea what that means.

Eric 951 10-25-2018 04:34 PM

Sorry, those threads used up all of the internet and broke it.

I am sorry. :(

Same thing with me. It won't load to the last page. If I go to the first page it opened. I skipped ahead to page 2065 and it opened. If I went higher the page opened but the same pics appeared.

I've noticed that on a couple of threads. For instance the "What's for Dinner" thread opens to pg. 136 but shows the following page - 137. When I click on it, only 136 opens.

So this is it? No one is going to see if this can be corrected?

sammyg2 10-26-2018 09:53 AM

Nope, they are doing that on porpoise just to mess with you.

The end is here !!!!!!!

You might notice that both threads are working now.

It's all related to this new way of banning users, when you get banned now your posts get hidden but not deleted. So let's say you have a thread with 10,000 posts, and one user has 500 of them. At (what most people set it at) 20 posts per page, 10,000 posts are 500 pages, so when you click "last page", the forum software does the calculation and shows you page 500. But let's say the user above with 500 posts gets his posts hidden. You click "last page", the forum software knows there are 10,000 posts and tries to show you page 500, but there's not 10,000 viewable posts, there's only 9500. It doesn't know that, it just knows that some of the posts aren't available, so it redirects to page 499. Except that doesn't work either, so it redirects to 498, etc, until it gets to a page with viewable posts. Your browser gives up long before it backtracks (500 / 20) 25 pages, and gives you the error. That's why you can creep up on it by clicking page 10, 20, 50, up until you find the last one that works. You try to click next, it knows there aren't that many posts available, and it will redirect and show you the same page you were just on.

This should break again in a couple of hours, I have a feeling he's going to get banned again.

That makes sense. Interesting.

Joe Bob... He's having some personal issues and I'm guessing no one close to him can help.
