spoon decision
I need some PPOT input. Last night I won a CZ Drake 20 GA O/U, which is great, it will fit in well with the (3) other 20 GA O/U I already have. Hence my dilemma. One of those is a Tri-Star which I have had for several years with occasional use. A buddy of mine is looking for a 20 GA O/U for his wife for limited sporting clays, and I am looking to thin the herd anyways. I know it can be personal preference, comfort of fit, etc., but running on the assumption that all of that is equal(which to me it is), my question for the brain trust, which would you keep
CZ Drake Tri-Star Whichever I don't keep, I will offer to my buddy for his wife if interested. Input appreciated. |
The CZ is what I would keep

I bought a CZ side by side 12 gauge last year on a whim (I was in Cabela's buying a hat...). One of the Turkish made ones. I have to say, after hunting with it for a season and a half, I'm nothing but impressed. And not with any sort of qualifier like "for the price" or anything - it's just a damn good shotgun. If your O/U is of the same quality, and it fits you, I would hang onto it.

Thanks to both of you for the input, you have confirmed my initial thoughts.
I use a CZ Redhead Deluxe for a lot of shooting(another banquet prize), and was pleasantly surprised with how nice of a spoon it really is. Looks like the Drake will join its sibling, and the Tri-Star will be moved along. |
