The amber lights in the wells are running lights. When you turn, they light (with white light) where you are turning...like turning headlights.

I believe Porsche has the owners manual on their website

Nice color combo!

the side marker lights, it's an aero thing that they don't bump out, yet can be seen from behind.

Manual; I think that I got my PDF manual from Porsche online. (also have paper versions)

@ Bryan O. - that's got to be tough to find the right GTS on the island.

Looks like I was typing while you posted. (good advice, btw. :)
Actually the white cornering lights are in the headlight cluster. They are always on (when the headlights are on) but become very bright in the direction of the turned steering wheel.

You're telling me! There was a white one, but had all white turbine style rims with a rear wing. And a nice red on on Maui, but I don't like red. :(

I would think you would try to find one on a West coast port city and ship it.

Theres this White on black 2008 GTS with a pano roof in the Seattle area. https://www.castleautosales.com/vehicle-details/2008-porsche-cayenne-gts-tiptronic--panoramic-sunroof--navigation-suv-0ccc219477c8cc44b07fb28de878eba1

Seems too much cash for the mileage, and (for these parts) it has no seat heat. Also no full leather. :-/ I really like the GTS wheels, but not blacked out.

Hi Mike, I have a question about the GTS. How low does the GTS get on its lowest setting (stepin height). I need to load my 88 year old mother in it. :D

Embraer 11-14-2018 11:45 PM

I’ll take a picture when it gets light out, today

You won’t find a gts with full leather. The alcantara seat inserts were a gts-specific item

RKDinOKC 11-15-2018 05:03 AM

My turbo has clear side marker lights with an amber bulb.

http://www.zipbang.com/photos/jaramasm.jpg

Hardly ever give it enough throttle to spool up the boost just daily driving. But do like being able to jump out into that hole in traffic instead of waiting around for a bigger gap to merge into.

rfuerst911sc 11-15-2018 05:32 AM

There is a turbo listed locally with a bad transmission for 4K ....... . Would be an interesting project .

island911 11-15-2018 05:37 AM

That Blue with the tan is beautiful.

They do exist. --I'm talking about leather dash, door panels... And on the GTS's with full leather, the door panels also have alcantara inserts.

Here is an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-Porsche-Cayenne-GTS/123483723265?hash=item1cc0341601:g:a2cAAOSwfcNb6GP b:rk:2:pf:1&vxp=mtr&frcectupt=true

Nice looking 957. Check Ebay for manuals. As best I can tell, it's a side racket for the guys that process used cars - - they take the manuals and resell them online...

Yeah, loading height goes plenty low. And it can be re-calibrated to go even lower.

Embraer 11-15-2018 06:56 AM

Ahhhhh, I didn't know there was less than "full leather.". Mine has the leather dash, door panels with alcantara inserts. I thought all gts' had this interior.

Nice, congrats!

You can't just swap out the HU on a modern Porsche, they interface with the rest of the car via a fiber optic interface called MOST. You can get interface kits but they are really pricey, like $600+ just for the interface box.

Just checked Crutchfield and they have several Bluetooth HD units and sell adapter kits for the fiber optic. The one I looked at supports steering wheel controls and hands free calling. The only thing itdoesnt do is play after the ignition is turned off.

There might be more options for the later models, the 986 and 996 with the early MOST were a real pain to interface with.

You can download one directly from a Porsche.com (ROW) portal:

User Manuals - Cayenne

Third one down from the top (3/07 revision). ;)
