Leather Seat surface repair

In my wifes Lexus the driver seat is losing its outer shell color in the cracks of the leather. No splits or tears in the leather but the light grey against the dark cracks really irritates me. Lexus wants $800 for new leather covers and if you do the driver then you need to do the passenger. Has anyone been successful in dyeing the leather? Just want to address the cracks not the entire seat.

the old Benz boys seem to like Harley's and Leatherique with about equal numbers on each side of the argument

is it cracks or color fading that is the issue?

There are people who will repair leather and vinyl tears. Ask around at the detailer shops.

My local PCA chapter has an annual Spring Clean event that has one of those guys present to do this work.

You could feed the leather and enjoy the patina.

Captain Obvious but full grain leather is a natural product that is never perfect.
The plastic coated leather they use in modern cars is a compromise between aesthetics and durability.

Why not post a good photo so we can see what you're dealing with?

1. There are really good products that will fill the cracks & fully restore the surface but it will never be as durable as new from the factory.
2. If it's a low mileage car that you intend to keep I'd suggest buying new covers from Lexus. Expensive but the best long term solution.

I also want to find the solution of cracking of the surface. As above that if he shows the pic through this we can easily identify the actual position of surface.
