Unrelated, but once I was driving my 944 about 25mph down a street covered in leaves. When I hit the hidden speed bump, I launched into the air and onto the matching speed bump. Learned my lesson very quick.

But we neglected the cross street at the bottom of the hill which led to some very, VERY close calls. However no one ever came to stop us from sledding. Guess we were expendable:confused:

The first time I ever saw the underside of a car was at the end of a sled ride down our suburban driveway. I still remember clear as day the view of slush and dirt only a 7 year-old face jammed up against the treads of a moving left rear tire can provide.

Unhurt but wiser.

My first concussion (I'm pretty sure) was sledding...laying flat...tree stopped the sled...then my head...I was about ten. Few years later watched my buddy sled under a milk truck...then in hs we pulled each other in tubes/discs behind our CJ5s....

We should not be here....

One of my neighbor's kids was playing in a snow fort at the end of their driveway, a garbage truck ran over him.

Yeah I remember on long island in the 90s as a kid that always warned us about that. And the white vans going around trying to steal kids. I know alot of people hid cement blocks in their leaf piles to stop people blowing through them.

A couple times a year one of these guys gets hit... community goes into a uproar "everyone slow down!!!" A politician will use it as a photo opp to get a new stop sign/light installed.

A couple months go by and another one of these guys get hit.

[rant off}

We often get in town very dark complexion people on bicycles at night, dressed all in black with all the reflectors taken off the bike even off the ends of the pedals.

It's like they want to be hit, and of course they do not follow the traffic lights and stop signs like they are supposed to.

I just don't get it.

Trying to collect from car driver's insurance?
