Have you had a "little item" seem nice?
 

Well yesterday I had to get groceries since the wife can't drive any more it is up to me. I usually get things like the big bag of dog food and her muffins at Costco and the others at Walmart. I managed to get through the Costco parking craziness and right next door is Walmart so away I go. Usually their carts are a mess from drastic over loading and such BUT right next to my parking place were several BRAND NEW CARTS! Nice powder coat finish and some gran wheels that didn't wiggle and drag! It actually made getting my stuff less of a challenge than usual! They were like the Porsche of shopping carts.

Sure have. I can't remember any of them right off the bat, but one little thing like that can snowball into a really great day.

It's like those days where everything you are doing goes really well and you just keep looking around for things to do because the planets have totally lined up for you.

Yes. Last week on the way home from a Hornets home game. We took the new lightrail back to the University and man offered me his seat! Crazy! I politely refused, probably for a matter of pride and i am actually in pretty good shape (relatively).

My wife usually picks a cart with the uneven, wobbly wheel that doesn't manifest itself until we are at the back of the store, and everyone is staring.

At a recent grocery store outing I managed to get a cart with a bad bearing on one wheel. It would be fine for a while, and then the entire wheel would flop over and rub against the metal bracket. It was a nice one wheel brake. It would release in 1/2 a second. It was like the idiots on the highway that drive with both feet and keep randomly hitting the brakes. I toughed it out and we finished our shopping and hopefully I will never get that cart again.

As much as I hate pushing a cart around in a store.
I always check it out if I just have to use one.
And always go to wally mart or costco early in the morning to avoid the people that make that chore
more miserable.

Ya, having electrical power turned back on after being without it for three days. Not a "little item" though.

Gee Marv, I would have thought you would have a at least two of those Harbor Freight portable generators by now?! After the 2003 fire I bought a 5KW and after the second fire in 2007 I bought another 7.5KW model. Use one down stairs and one up stairs with home made extension cords to run the freezer, extra fridge, mill machine (if needed), heater, window AC, upstairs fridge and even the bedroom flat screen and they don't even work hard. I got them both when they had 20% off coupons.

John, I have a 10 KW Generac hooked up to a transfer panel. I only power up some things like the freezer, fridge, lights, plugins, and study for internet. This is so we can use lights, cook on a portable cooktop I have, microwave, and get info on the internet. It's supposed to get us through the usual fairly short outages, but three days is a pretty big inconvenience. I hate the noise it makes even though I only run it a few times a day, and for that reason I may consider replacing it with a liquid cooled diesel and have more circuits powered. You sound like you're pretty well set up, although I don't think C.V. is in danger of burning down any time soon.

Our generators make a lot of noise too. They never mention that in those commercials it seems? I was worried during the fire that was burning into Otay Lakes and we could see it from our house on a hill just West of the 805 freeway. I was worried that if the fire got into the houses in East Lake it would go like it did in Scripts Ranch although we have "native brush" and not millions of eucalyptus trees like they have up there.

I thought with the title of this Thread that it was going to be about the size of your wang, schlong, Johnson, Johnny, meat, Willy or pecker...but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was about something else...

I have a electronic lock on a door where the battery needed replacing...it locked me out....go to replace the battery and I find there is no clearance to open the battery compartment to replace the battery as it is too close to the door handle...Whooppps.

Well the solution was to pry off the plastic battery compartment lid with a screwdriver, drop the battery tray enough to get the batteries outs and then finegal the new batteries into place...then replace plastic compartment lid......I was thinking nightmarish thoughts about how to get that door open???? But it worked out nicely

Most importantly - that we notice them....and embrace them in proper context.

BTW....getting a good cart is always a priority for me and in a way - not such a little thing, although I understand the principal of the concept. I always make sure the wheels are in good shape, she doesn't pull, rattle, or shake while driven. And I have noticed when I see new carts and yes....it's uplifting!

Every time my little item works it seems nice.

Years ago aboard my little engineless sailboat "Little Wings".
We were becalmed midway between Lanai and Maui. My Mom and Step dad were aboard. We were parked there in oil slick glassy water for a few hours, not a breath of breeze. Had the shade tarp up, but it had gotten hot and old for my passengers some time ago.
Then in the distance a slight disturbance could be seen on the glassy surface. Slowly it approached us, cats paws on the surface coming our way. Then we felt it, a light new breeze on our sweaty now smiling faces.
Pulled down the tarp, hoisted sails and very happily sailed on to Lahaina.

A little breeze is a small thing but the look on my folks faces as that breeze arrived was priceless.
