Ice walkers, traction aids

The pond is finally frozen over and I need to get EZ on/off grippy cleats for the family. I have hiking and climbing crampons but that's not what is needed.

There is a wide array of rubber type slipons but they look flimsy. Does anyone here use such for ice fishing or ice hiking? Any recos appreciated.

TIA

I have used these on ice and snow and have used them on seaweed covered rocks when stripper fishing. They work pretty well. I also keep a pair in each of my cars.
I don't recall where I got them or what I paid.

The straps are rubber. The spikes are tungsten and replaceable.

No problem good luck. I may have gotten them from Cabela's or LL Bean. But again not sure.

If you're on solid frozen, spikes. Dangerous slush, soccer shoes. The cleats will be hard that cold.

Ditto. My wife has broken her elbow twice, slipping on ice... She loves the Icebug studded boots I gave her for Christmas. They make lots of options for men & women...

This reminds of the early 70’s when RMR, PCA had an ice gymkhana up at St Mary’s glacier and after the driving they decided to have a foot race around the course. Well there sat Grady Clay fitting Little little rocks in his vibram soles to increase his traction. If I remember right it worked pretty good and he “won” the race.
