It's not like you have to get up off the couch and walk across the room to turn the volume down. (Does anyone remember those days)? You can have the remote clutched in your hand. Simply push the mute button or turn down the sound. Is it really that difficult? :DSmileWavy I only watch about an hour a day anyway. Too many other things to do. Man, I should have never taken that welding class. :)

Friend of mine watches everythig on Tivo and starts watching shows 10 minutes after they air so he can ride herd on the fast forward button until te program omes back on.

That is way more involved than I want to be.

What I need is two remotes. Ms Rocket always has it by her and walks out of the room.

I remember the old black and white days. I think we had 13 channels. Not every channel had a program. I was the remote for my parents.

Yep, I certainly remember I was the "remote" and we usually had just three channels, and the "educational" channel never had more than the most possible boring shows ever. And when we turned off the TV a white spot in the cent of the TV would get smaller and smaller until it vanished.

I also remember walking int a Mexican restaurant during a move from one state to another and for the first time I saw COLOR TV! It was the show Flipper. WOW, color TV. Amazing.

Now I have TIVO unit with 5 tuners. I never watch live TV. If I want to see a show, I record it, and watch it later. Many shows have the ability to tap one button and bam all the commercials are skipped, and the show starts again. Or I watch shows on Amazon Prime, through the TIVO.
