While we're on the subject, I was planning to build something like this (often to referred to as a "ladder box" or "ladder level") for doing some work in/on stair-ways when you might not need an actual platform for reaching a ceiling:

I tacked cardboard on the sides that were touching any surfaces. Not a scuff or chip to be found.

He’s wearing a harness, but what’s it tied to the chandelier?

Last time I did something similar was when I used an extension ladder with a 2x12 between it and the second floor railing. I wasn’t very comfortable but it worked.

^^^ Yeah Rocket, I noticed the same about the harness!! For my purposes, I only intend to use one of the "boxes" to level out the stairs...I don't see myself trying to do the second one on the actual ladder rung!!!

Probably not tied off to anything. Just there so that the "He's not wearing a harness!!" nazis won't speak up.
