In fact, these are harder to sell.
I got a great deal on a truck like this.

$6k gets you a nice used truck.
Actually much easier to sell...I get regular offers in the @8k range for this one, which is 25+ years old.. But yes, mine is a diamond in the rough.. And that's the point.. No way I would ever buy a four door truck.

My favorite other forum is Airforums, an Airstream site.

That's where these luxury trucks are aimed.
Lots of folks there spend big chunks of their year traveling with their rigs.
Laying down mucho miles traveling the country.

They speak highly of the pleasent interiors and creature comforts available in the high end new trucks.

There is some debate on which is the best brand, but lots are going for the diesel powered models. So probably near the top of the range price wise.

Does make sense if doing lots of towing for pleasure travel.

Cheers Richard

Beautiful truck. You did a really nice job with the rims and tires. 78K is astonishing to me. I wish.

I DD my truck so I put on a lot of miles. I have a 2015 (bought in 2014) Tundra with just under 100K on the clock.

I do have hard requirements (4x4 with locking rear differential, heated seats, extra cab) but I have been able to get baseline trucks and negotiate the adds.

Anyone who buys a Nav/Smart package in this day and age needs to be shot.

I tow a lot, and my ‘12 F350 Diesel was $62k before negotiating. It’s not the top level by any means, the same truck now is a lot more expensive. I’m going to drive mine till the wheels fall off, dings and all...

I've been driving pick up trucks for at least 30 years. This is in part due to the oilfield work I was doing. They have all been Chevs except for 1 Ford. The one I currently have is a 2007 Chev extended cab with 80,000 miles with very few problems to date. I recently upgraded the wheels as well. Some rust beginning on rear fender which I will get repaired. This will be my last truck and will keep it until I'm done!

Agree. When you spend a lot of time in the thing, it makes a difference if it is nice. I spent the entire summers of 2006 and 2007 dragging my track car up and down the east coast with my then 18-yo daughter. I bought a brand new 2006 Nissan Titan Crew Cab as our tow vehicle. It was the mid-level SE (no leather), but mine had several nice goodies, most importantly the Harman Kardon giga-watt stereo. And it had a really badass V8.

Our first year, we did 23 days at Summit Point, Shenandoah, Mid Ohio, Watkins Glen, and VIR. It was like we were on a circuit, mostly doing 2- and 3-day events. We towed over 10,000 miles together that first year, most of the time with the stereo cranked. She went from being terrified on track to being a pretty hot shoe. Here she is at Mid-Ohio, probably telling her instructor what to do!

Seems trucks have been involved in many of the best memories I have.

Maybe this will work. 2007 Chev extended cab. Updated wheels. 80,000 miles. Very few problems with it. Owned since new.

I would like to think so but probably not. File size was slightly over 5 Mb!! The resizing comment in photo module doesn't appear to be working??

(Yeah. Resize function doesn't seem to work. 1024x768 seems to be the max accepted by the PP website. Use Irfanview or another light program to adjust.)
(Some of my .png attempts upload successfully but some don't. odd. None of my .gifs will upload.)

$70 for a truck ought to arrive with a million mile warrantee or triple your money back, a removable 5th wheel, and a good lookin hooker.

I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra that has served me well. Then I decided I should buy a new truck. Bought a 2018 F150 which has already had the engine replaced w 10K miles on ODO. Glad I kept my Tundra. Will unload the Ford ASAP.

insane money these days, and some $70K 1/2 ton short bed isn't a TRUCK.

the 10 foot 4500 pound truck camper makes my Ram look like tiny.

with camper and trailer, I've scaled out at 15,500 pounds rolling hwy weight.

1998, long bed 3/4 ton 4x4 V10.

Bought it new for $28,500

The biggest argument against a new truck is a used truck, because any late model used one will be just as good. I have a 2013 F150 Supercrew 4x4 Ecoboost that I bought with 40k, it now has 80k and is a great truck. My father in law has a similar configuration 2018 F150 that’s a nice truck, but it doesn’t do anything better than mine. I figure that mine used would probably be about $25k today, that’s a big savings over new. It will haul five adults in leather lined comfort while easily towing my 9,000 lbs and 30+ ft of boat and trailer several hours to the lake. It’s also hauled more building materials than I can count and is my daily driver when the weather takes a turn for the worse. It’s a tool, and unlike my ADD with cars I have no inclination to replace it anytime soon.

Thanks, Jim, but the brown truck is the winner, which is replacing the yellow truck. Don't need two, so selling the yellow.
