Interesting. I'd want either or both of these, but they just don't look good enough when finished to me.

This is not nearly as comprehensive, but it looks a lot better when finished, and they have 2 options.

those 3d puzzles are stupid expensive for the result they give and play time provided

peppy 10-18-2019 04:32 AM

My wife got that for my son for Christmas. I am tempted to put it together.

Yeah, that's probably just the Porsche tax at work. And I'm sure they are more complex to make than stamped cardboard.

Still, for $25-30, you get something that looks like a Porsche versus $300+ for something that only looks like a Porsche if you have a good imagination and you squint.

yeah nah, didn't buy that crap either.
and in the end didn't buy the RSR either because on closer inspection it looked poorly proportioned, the nose is way to big

You do get a lot more playtime out of em
and you can make other things with the blocks.. which you can't with that 3d puzzle.

I think those two lego 911’s look absolutely awful.
Designed by a blind guy on crack by following Jeremy Clarkson’s verbal instructions...

Porsche should sue Lego.

Everyone was really excited when the big orange one came out, and I wanted to be, but just couldn't.

It looks like a Mustang that just left Cars and Coffee.

I have the orange GT3. Received it as a birthday gift. It was a fantastic build. Took the better part of a week (evenings after work). Working sequential gearbox, with forward/neutral/reverse, connected to a flat-6 motor that turns, and a rear differential. Very neat to see that "made" out of Legos. Yeah, the aesthetics aren't quite right and the gearbox and motor are hidden from view once the car's been built, but I thought it was all pretty cool, nonetheless.

It’s been a Christmas tradition for years now. The wife dumps a LEGO set on the coffee table to keep me out of her hair while she’s doing all of her big dinner prep work.

Found this hidden in the closet. So I know what I’m getting.

My wife got me the lunar lander for my birthday. It's a great build with lots of hidden details. The only thing I don't like is the proportions on the reaction thrust deflect curtains.

varmint 10-19-2019 10:36 AM

did the saturn five last year. the kid and i rip the instructions in half and hope our sections fit together when done.

if thrust deflector curtains are the only issue i expect i will not complain.

For the last few years, my family does a Puzz 3D every year around Thanksgiving/Christmas.
We've done the Grandfather Clock, Orient Express, and a Tiffany lamp. I forget what this year's project is.

IMO, those Lego Porsches are butt ugly. I wouldn't pay money for any of them.

That's what really made me want it.
