Cursus Victus

I'm a Porsche and watch nut....

Just got my belated birthday present from February, a Cursus Victus CMXI watch.
Anyone else have one of these? Seems like a nice watch so far. The watch is as described, works great so far and seems very well put together. The leather watch band stands out as incredibly well made.

I would like to suggest a green face model after the early 911/912's.....

I haven't driven it in the P-car yet, so I'm not sure if I'm as cool as the guy in the video.

Looks like a chronograph with a power reserve meter.

This might be the watch for me, I sometimes misreading the hour hand and have to do a double take.

One hand with increments is a little more idiot proof short of going digital.

EDIT:

I found this.................

Cursus Victus

Cursus Victus was launched in 2015 by designer Torgeir Sanders. At the time of writing, Cursus Victus (latin for The racing way of life) hasn’t produced any watches yet, but is actually an ongoing Kickstarter project.

The CMXI chronograph, which will be the first product, is inspired by classic sports cars from the 1970s, especially Porsche 911. It has a couple of cool features, such as the single large hand and the perforated leather strap.

Price on Kickstarter is around $270.

Take a look, and see what you think:

Nice watch.

Masculine yet elegant.

I like it.

I like it and I really like the one hand thing. It's got something a bit different to set it apart for the other million watches out there. I'd wear it.

Besides, how cool that it looks a lot like a 911 tach.

Prepare to soil your pants.

A few years ago I purchased a watch from REC watches, I have no affiliation with them other than being a customer. The watch I purchased was made from a recycled Classic Mini, since I have one in my garage, I thought it would be cool to have a watch where the face is from the body of a Mini. It is super cool but the Mini crowd is predicable. At $200 to $400 each depending on the model, the common answer from everyone on the Mini boards was, "Its too much money".

A little over a year ago, they pinged me with a kickstarter campaign, they were making more watches, this time from the bodies of classic Mustangs. I had emailed the owner of REC watches inquiring as to why they would need to do a Kickstarter, seems my perceived lackluster reception from the Mini crowd forced them to do a Kickstarter to get the Mustang watch off the ground.

My dad is a Mustang fanatic so I ordered one for him as a gift for his 50th Wedding Anniversary. He loves that watch and wears it all the time, willing to tell anyone who will listen its story.

I just got another notice from them, they are doing it again, this time with old Porsche 911 bodies. I suspect they like the buzz a Kickstarter campaign causes so they are going with a tried and true method.

The kickstarter launched a couple days ago, I poked in here to see if there was a thread and was amazed to see there was none. so here you go Porsche guys and watch nuts. A marriage of two passions all in one. I ordered one on the kickstarter, even though I am Poscheless, I decided it was too cool to not get. Plus who knows, I have come close a few times now to purchasing another one. The Mustang watches sold out in about 1 week. I am curious to see how well the Porsche line does.

Interesting concept on REC, but the watch design isn't my style. The OP's looks good.

The Motchron watches were the nicest speedometer style IMO. I had several when I had my Porsche business.

Interesting! I thought Chris was a reseller of the watch. I had no idea he did a design/build.

I participated in their Kickstarter campaign and received my Cursus Victus watch a couple weeks ago. I love it.

OK, yeah, that's VERY cool. Now I just have to find an extra grand. I really do like it and wish I could justify the expense. they are very unique.
