Half of Americans Have Diabetes or High Blood Sugar, Survey Finds

Half of Americans Have Diabetes or High Blood Sugar, Survey Finds
Half of Americans Have Diabetes or High Blood Sugar, Survey Finds - NBC News

Do you think this is accurate?

The survey they use is of only 5,000 people annually.

I found this article because it was quoted in the below article, though they did not provide a link - so I'm guessing this is the article.

Why You Should Take Your Apple Cider Vinegar at Night

Why You Should Take Your Apple Cider Vinegar at Night

No diabetes or high-blood sugar for me, but I do take some apple cider vinegar every day. Call it a poll of one.

The trick I've been doing the last few months is putting a half shot of apple juice or white grape juice into the tall water glass to mask the apple cider vinegar taste/stench. Good flow and all that other stuff they mention.

If you read the article you need be just a little overweight if you are of Asian descent.

You don't have to be fat to have Diabetes, but it doesn't help.

I just think there must be a better source of information for a problem so allegedly prevalent than a poll of only 5,000 people.

Seems weird.

They have also changed the goal posts for what high blood sugar is as well. It used to be anything over 130 (I think) and now it is 100 for your fasting glucose levels.

Wow! Who knew vinegar could be a help with everything from obesity, to toe nail fungus, to colon cancer?? Personally I'm always suspect of things that claim to cover most maladies of life. Obesity and diabetes are rampant in society, in my suspicion, mostly because eating is a very pleasurable and social activity that doesn't do any more than require you to sit at a table, in front of a TV, or anywhere else you can just sit on your ass. The other things like running, walking, swimming, working, etc. all require you to get off your ass and actually move.

I am type 2 and fighting it with meds and a strict diet, so it is a real problem...

However I do wonder about the millions of dollars made treating diabetes...

My coworkers husband got off his type 2 meds by going on the Atkins diet.

"Each participant took 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with a snack — an ounce of cheese — before bedtime. The researchers demonstrated that in the morning, the study subjects had lower blood sugar readings than when they had the same snack with 2 tablespoons of water."

How do they know it wasn't the cheese? Seriously, my Dr. told me to have a high protein shack before bedtime.

I'm also fighting to keep my A1C levels down - hopefully below 5.5.
For most with type 2 if you can get the weight down enough it (type 2) will go away.
After I got my carotid arteries scanned I'm heading for a vegetarian diet.
I've put over 1000 miles on my bike in the last 5 or so months. My weight and A1C are down.

The basic concept is that the ACV helps your liver function the way it was supposed to function before our rich American diet and lifestyle intervened.

A video I watched a few years ago warned of soy harming the liver as well, lot's of soy in processed foods that Americans eat which other countries just don't see.

I started talking Apple Cider Vinegar over a year ago when an elderly lady at the tire store and I struck up a conversation. She claimed that her husband lost a bunch of weight and got off his diabetes medicine because of it. I was sold, guess I just trust old ladies.

The only thing I can testify for sure from personal experience is that I ran out for two weeks and noticed I wasn't getting a good pee out. Once I started to take it the faucet turned on to full blast again. As you get older it's the simple things in life you really enjoy the most.

It's a global issue.

India will have about 300,000,000 people (That's more than one third of their population) with Type 2 Diabetes within ten years!
And the Indian government has no idea how they are going to manage that.

I'd expect the statistics are the same in China/Asia but there's not much info available.

As we all know there's been lots of discussion over the years about what causes over eating & most of it is B.S.

IMO the problem is is that "we" are hardwired to eat. If there is food in front of us, we eat it.
Because there may be no food tomorrow or the day after. It's as simple as that.

Timely.
My first time today drinking 1/2 cup water, 3 tablespoons of ACV and 1 tablespoon of Organic Virgin Coconut oil.
A tad of Stevia to sweeten - 3 times/day.
I'll let you know.

If we never hear from you again it means it was not such a good idea?

Actually, I'm off to the shops to get some apple cider vinegar (and a pie). I like the sound of it.

Only thing now is...now that I've made it public I'll have to start working out, too.
Bummer.
.
Just had my second daily dose...my third prior to bed.
I ought to take a profile photo (of my gut) and then another in 6 months to a year...then show off a bit in that other thread, eh?

Good idea. But we don't want to have big ugly guys like me doing profile gut pics and the thread get confused with a pregnant male thread.

I've just got back from the shops and have put three teaspoons into a glass of sodastream water, I know I'm quite odd, but I like it.

3.5 months of no cigarettes now.
I was only a light/med smoker before but it was a nervous habit thing. I feel like I think differently now as well. Certainly do feel better. I did have to cheat with those cigars once in a while (dang you George) but they are expensive and take too much time. Gum has replaced the mandatory first cigarette in the car and it doesn't stink or have a over-packed ashtray which won't close anymore. The constant nasal drip cough is slowly going away but my lungs still feel a little fogged up. They do stretch better. It will take time.

I gained 20lbs instantly, eating frequently to stay busy, but that craving for food is tapering off.
I may cook for two but I'm going to eat for one.

I thought it would be ok stuffing myself by just not eating those processed foods..mostly organic greens and homemade stuff...I lied to myself as I put the pizza in the oven...but nope...I still blew up like a balloon around the waist. But now I'm a healthy balloon who can jog more than 10 steps again if necessary. Got more consistent energy to boot. Bought a nice Teeter brand inversion table to stretch out the back and knees and get everything straight before excercize. Taking the dog for longer walks now. Trying to feel healthy. Drink water at night. Brush my teeth more. All that jazz. Blah blah.

Gonna try the ACV as well and see how it goes.
Good idea!

Google Vapeing. I smoked for almost 30 years. Tried everything to quit and did so on a few occasions but never for long.

Almost 3 years without a smoke. The best thing I've ever done for my health.
