Burger gloves

For lunch today I took some sirloin tips, chopped them up, froze a little and put into the food processor to make some ground beef (way better than buying supermarket ground beef and you can make your mixes/ratios).

Anyway, threw that on the flattop with some Mexican spices and onions, griddled that, made a mound, hatch chilies on top, cotija and queso fresco on top, griddled a burger bun and made an amazing sandwich.

Which was a 4 paper towel lunch. And would have been more fun to eat if I put a fresh set of nitrile gloves on and just went at it with a little more abandon.

many of the burgers I make are similar in execution and devourment.

Not a question of whether or not it's a good idea but rather would people buy them? Burger gloves. Burgers, ribs, lobster... gloves help.

Easy to have them made with some sort of artwork and logo on them.

Just a food coma induced thought since I can't work now.

Why can't you work? I missed that somewhere.

Anyway, you can sell anything. Anyone can sell anything. It's only marketing that needs to be done. Convince people that they need burger gloves and they will buy them.

Personally, I think I'd pass.

He’s so full of sandwich that he needs a nap before we can get any work out of him!

I can’t see people bringing the gloves with or wearing them if offered.

no one would bring them. Few might wear at a picnic with a some Buds in them. Home use for sure.

Maybe you could throw in a free "Opti-Grab" with every purchase to sweeten the deal. Just pay additional shipping and handling....

^^^ that's funny!

I think we can see what happens when blood rushes from the head to the stomach to deal with burgers and the like.

I had some tacos earlier that were pretty messy.

It's not a bad idea to wear nitrile or something similar when eating messy food, but I probably wouldn't. It might even make more sense if you worked in a job where your hands got really nasty dirty with chemicals (like a mechanic dealing with grease & grime).

But I wouldn't use them, and you'd end up just making a bunch of toxic garbage that would end up in a landfill.

I think many/most folks just get used to some foods being messy.

Soap and water seems to have worked well for aeons, so I'm sticking with that.

However, I have seen people using thick gloves when dealing with grilling large quantities of meat, like in a barbecue pit.

If you wore gloves, you couldn't lick your fingers.

Chili dogs tonight with cheese and onions, lot of chili so I tried the gloves and it may just be me but it's easier and more fun than just hands alone.

When I was a kid, I refused to eat messy foods by hand (like BBQ chicken or ribs). I had to cut the meat off or get my mom to do the cutting. I've gotten used to eating messy foods as an adult. I lick my fingers and wash my hands. Hell, I'll even use the condensation on the outside of a cold drink along with a napkin to get them clean at the table before I head to a sink as long as they aren't too dirty.

Sorry you can't work Shaun. Is it your eyes?

People who buy gifts for Foodies will buy any kind of gadget. I can't see any advantage over some nitrile gloves, but my sister might think "Burger Gloves" would be just what I need.

No it was my food coma. I’m going to Mass Eye & Ear again on the 15th to see if a certain procedure will work for me.

So I'm thinking there's gonna be a whole line of gloves now after visiting a customer in CT and getting an amazing Italian grinder at a place that is part of my travel nirvana: randomly finding an amazing hole in the wall or small restaurant that loves what they do and does it better than anyone else. Only happened twice in the last 10 years so I was due. Claudia's Grinder Shop in Farmington, CT. I passed it and a 6th sense made me turn around a mile down the road and drive back.

Italian grinder, "wet" as I'm prone to order subs with extra oil & vinegar. The woman who made it laughed heartily when I told her about the gloves. She loved it. And was happy to hear I loved the sandwich she made. Cute milfy girl, lots of flirting, tons of fun. Freshly made bread, amazing sandwich. Huge pile of napkins not shown.
