Bloody hell, that’s quite a drive. All I’d need is to lay eyes on & look underneath, see how much rust there is. Basically let me know if I should pay for it to be shipped to Oregon or lose $500 & cut my losses. Been looking for one for. While- they’re either completely rusted through, or $45k garage queens. I just want one for the wife to bomb around St. Thomas on when we retire there.

We go up to Amish territory now and then for quilting stuff. Go through Ft Wayne on the way to Shipshewana. It could be doable for depending on time frame.

I'm just under an hour away. What are you hoping to have looked at? Just want someone to drive it, make sure it's not a smoker or a leaker and give you the okay?

Just read your reply to wd. I can do that for you. I have to go to FT Wayne for some brewing supplies at some point anyhow. PM me some info and how soon you need it done.

Just a suggestion but have you considered asking the seller to put it on a lift and taking some pics of the underside for you? In my business I have found that those who aren't willing to give you good descriptive pictures aren't worth buying from.

I asked for underside pics but didn’t get a response. Depending on cost, I might be able to address it/replace the tub anyway. As for a quick look, that’s all I need. If it’s a basket case, I’ll eat my $500 & walk away.

Considered asking on the USA based mini/Moke forums, but I don’t want someone to snatch it out from under me (as has happened here several times).

If you have put 500 down...how long do you have? Give Pelican a chance....given some time/leeway, I bet someone can visit it without a lot of hassle. Someone wanting to sell....should provide pics imo....and it still needs verification...

Otherwise....assume total rust bucket....imo.

I sell used construction equipment for a living and sell all over the country. I guess when it's my reputation, I take every picture the buyer wants whereas this is probably a one off deal of the seller so they don't care.

Auction ends tonight, so sometime in the next few days after that.

I’m concerned by the lack of underside photos, but they all rust- just depends how much Por-15 I’ll need.

Let me know if you need me to go look at it. If you decide you want me to look at it, you can PM me your email address or your cell number and I'll text or email high res pics of the under body as best I can get them. I can toss a set of ramps in the car when I go and as long as the seller doesn't mind, pull it up on the ramps to get decent pics.

Ah well! Probably better since the seller didn't seem to be on the up and up. A good seller would have provided you with the pics and had you liked what you saw, ran it higher. Lazy sellers who won't provide good pics to an interested party typically aren't someone you want to deal with anyhow.
