This is crazy, dual engine 4wd VW

This thing has two of everything, 2 motor, 2 trans, 2 ECU, etc.... 800hp each motor, 1/4 mile 9.06 sec at 156 mph at Denver.

There's another mid-80s Rabbit with the same thing out there.
It has been around a few decades.

Do a search on Youtube vid for a freeway pass.
A Porsche and a Mitsubishi(? I think) are accelerating 'briskly' when out of nowhere this little box bullet screams by them both like they are standing still.

Crazy engineering! I love it.

MK3 style ;)

My first reaction was that 1600 hp, 4wd, slicks on all corners, and roughly 2500 lubs would do allot better than nine seconds.
What am I missing?
Aero?

My brother wants to build one like that. Those cars are cheap now and there is piles of them at the junk yards. Even with semi stock engines it would fly.

Going 9s is not as easy as it looks. Ive spent a lot of time at the strip.
Also, the Denver track is high altitude and that just kills power

The factory itself has done a handful of twin-engine cars.

I thought the same thing, but it is turbocharged which suffers much less at altitude than a naturally aspirated motor.
