I am just finishing reformatting HP zx5000 (2004). We had put it away when our kids gave us new laptop 6 years ago. Once I located the power supply it fired right up. I took all the pics off of it, and then went ahead reformatting and installing Vista. Its not the best or the greatest, but it has a wireless hot spot built into it that I can use to extend my current range limitation. I plan to use it mostly for photo editing, and to go through thousands of pictures stored on my other 2 computers. So, new usage for an old computer.

In case you were not aware, WIFI networks operate at the speed of the slowest connected device.

For a 2004 box it’s got most likely a b, at best g, radio.

Remember this when you are scratching your head trying to figure out why your WIFI speeds **** the bed.
