f n hate technology sometimes...
So i got my wife a garmin 645 music for xmas. Everything works as it should, with the exception of the music part.
I'm supposed to be able to log on to spotify through the garmin connect app and transfer playlist to the garmin watch. Well for some reason spotify, garmin and wifi aren't working nicely together. The watch says there's no wifi connection but I'm able to record an activity and sync that info from the watch to her phone, so i know there's wifi.(when we test the wifi connection to the watch it shows that it's connected) Anybody with a garmin tracker (645, 935) that stores music that might beable to point me in a direction to fix this issue would be much appreciated Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas Steve Sorry for the first world issues on Christmas |

Isn’t Garmin making fishfinders? Maybe that’s what they are better at...

Generally when you try to make all sorts of things work together on the biggest holiday of the year they do not mesh well? If it were me I would pull the music down to my phone or local computer THEN since the phone and watch are connected copy the music over that way. I would imagine on some or one of the various fitness boards there are sections for "exercising electronics" so you can see if others have the same issues?
Makes me happy my bicycle racing and triathlon days were ending just as electronics were coming out. Our cycling club did get a bunch of electronic speedo gizmos in 1985 if I remember right? Our winningest racers got them and one crashed badly as he was so excited watching his speed and never noticed the bike pack had suddenly stopped due to a crash......crash #2 happened! |

No help with the wifi issue, but my wife's older Garmin smart watch is the most finicky, temperamental POS ever. It will work fine for a week or two, then has all sorts of problems...rinse and repeat.

802,11/a/b/g/n and combinations thereof. All on 2 radio channel ranges.
Soup sandwich. I'd segregate out the channels, and strive for 1 at bottom, one middle, and one top if needed, otherwise keep as far apart as possible, then add clients and hubs as needed. Wireless, while the ultimate in convenience, sucks after 7-10 clients, but enterprise level stuff (expensive) can help. |

Really didn't understand all the gibberish, but seems it does have something to do with the watch not being compatible with the modem. Kinda insane to me as we have other devices (tv, ps4, denon receiver..ex) that all connect. We just used a work around with a hotspot on our phone to transfer data.. Thanks for your thoughts Steve |

stick with it, it can be frustrating
You need to find the common denominator, what version of wifi each device supports. Some auto select, some turn it all on, some use different channels.... lots of options. Not difficult but it takes some time. Many just stick with one vendor or just upgrade the AP needlessly. |

^^^^ another generic tip, if having "issues"... find a common denominator that works, then "set" each device to it....no "auto-detect", etc.
