There maybe something to it. Hamilton did allude to some odd things happening in the team that season and said he looked forward to being able to write about it after he was done with F1.

Jim.
Ferrari used to run Alonso on the "A" tire strategy, and their other driver on a "Testing" strategy.(Lets see what happens to your lap times if we leave you out longer than optimal.) It was pretty clear, and the few times Alonso DNF-ed, suddenly the pit strategy for the remaining car went to the "A" strategy, the lesser driver would get a substantially better finish then when Alonso didn't DNF. There are definitely shenanigans with Ferrari. From the outside, Mercedes seems to favor Hamilton(I haven't watched this season.) What happened when Nico won did not seem Mercedes favoring Nico, but rather Mercedes putting them on closer to equal footing. Nico was allowed to come and take it, if he could. From a team perspective, two cars trying to both finish 1st results in attempted super imposed juxtaposition - IE Crashing. Teams do seem to hamper a driver if the driver doesn't back down when asked. in the rare situations they did not it generally ends with one of the drivers exiting the team. |

All F1 teams want both drivers to finish as high a position as possible
Manufacturers World Championship is of far higher value to the team than the Drivers World Championship

A true warrior, an amazingly one who thought racing had become "too safe".

I have more less given up on F1 watching, after four decades of watching all of it, but I watched a little bit of practice yesterday because I have so much love for the yearly weekend in Monaco.
I was reminded just how lousy the broadcasting is. The commentary is mostly inane and every time they cut to that idiot Derek Warwick I wanted to scream at the TV. I used to think that if we were ever able to piggyback off of the broadcasts out of the UK, we would get to see all of the weekend, including the first practice, and the coverage would be better. I now know how wrong I was in assuming that. If only we could return to the days of Varsha, Hobbs and Matchette. |

All this time I've been calling Monaco a high-speed parade.
But after watching practice 1 and 2, I learned it is actually a PROCESSION. silly ****ing me. |

Or have them spend five minutes talking about how fast they are through the swimming pool section, all the while the camera is on them, not the ****ing cars going by three feet away. It's worthless. |

I haven't seen Derek Warwick, are you talking about Martin Brundle ? I have to agree ee: his idiot radio DJ friend. That's chris evans, the annoying ginger muppet that ruined the reboot of Top gear with all his shouting... He's still shouting now, and wearing his media shirt backwards... As I said, muppet.. I really miss varsha/hobbs and matchett. Diffey was fine too. Buxton I still listen to on paddock pass, I sometimes wonder if he's on coke but maybe he's just that ebullient in real life ;-) |

The Indian ex f1 member of broadcast team is a good addition to the TV crew IMHO. Is he Chandhok?

Karun Chandhok, with a whopping 11 Formula One races for backmarker teams to his credit, a number of years ago. Sky Sports has a number of more qualified ex-F1 drivers on their payroll, you hardly ever get to see the good ones.
