Ever sold an internet based business?

Does anyone here have experience selling their internet based business?

Not a pure dropship model - but an actual inventory carrying established small business...

Care to share how/where/why?

I do a fair amount of advising on small bsns sales but not internet specific. Not sure there’s much difference other than considering SEO costs and web licensing which, really, is an internet version of rent.

There's a guy named Will, Wally or maybe Wayne that occasionally posts in here that I think could speak to how it goes down. Decent guy, called me once and blew me away with how genuine he was. If I can remember his screen name I'll PM it to you.

Thanks. For this one those costs are minimal because we're a niche - so relatively easy to be top dog on Google.

My question is - since its not brick and mortar - how does one go finding a buyer?

No kidding. Wouldn’t be the first time a business in that industry sold to another competitor. Anyone you can think of that that has a strong offering but doesn’t carry your brands?

In all seriousness, my brother sold his first real successful internet based business to a direct competitor. They did approach him but the reality remains the same.

Time mostly. Life's most precious commodity.

The business has grown to the point where customer service in this higher touch business could become a challenge. My decision is to either identify someone to do that for me - or to sell before it becomes an issue.

The business has grown on average of 100% year over year for 3 years due to new offerings an markets (2.5x revenue 2017-2018), and I'd hate to see that momentum die because I couldn't respond to customer expectations as well any more.
