New Bed Day 3

My first year out of college I slept on an air mattress because that was all that I could afford. I bought another cheap mattress after that, tossed it after about 7 years of use after it got worn out. I bought a really nice mattress 12 years ago and I've been using it ever since.

We to visit my in-laws over the holidays and returned to realize that our bed was totally worn out. New Year's Day we ordered a new bed. Thursday night, I had some of the crappiest sleep of my life. I woke up in the morning and my right hip was sore. I realized that I was sinking so much into the bed that it wasn't very comfortable, and springs were poking me in the ribs.

I decided to toss the old mattress and grab the mattress from our spare bedroom until the new bed arrived. We bought it three years ago and it's been used sparingly.

I've had persistent back, neck, and shoulder pain the past 5 years. It went away after the first night. Instead of waking up a dozen times over the night, I'm sleeping through the night and not waking up at all. Rather than being tired and drained when I wake up, I find myself refreshed and ready to face the day.

When working out, I find I'm not in pain anymore. I've been pushing myself through workouts and through the pain for years. I've scaled back my workouts as I seem to fatigue quickly. I've torn my trapezius (left and right) more times that I can count the past few years. Working out feels good. I feel good.

I should have replaced this bed years ago. I can't wait until the real bed arrives.

Wow, impressive! Glad you have moved on to something better.

We got a new bed 4 years ago. It's AWESOME!

I've been on some crappy beds too, but I didn't have the problems that you were having most of the time. I might on occasion wake up with a sore shoulder, but that's about it.

I bought a king size full wave waterbed for a couple hundred bucks back in '81 once I moved outta the dorms. One pinhole patch (ear ring) in well over three decades of comfort. Sold it for a Franklin when I put down hardwood floors...but I can aleep on them too ;)
