All you need is a Carfax report! They're so reliable!

Last car I bought, the seller had a carfax, and was surprised when I ignored it.
I got under the hood, under the car with a flashlight and started poking and prodding.

Why look at a computer-generated paper when the real object is right in front of me?

I think the seller had no mechanical aptitude as he kept asking, with amazement, what I was looking at.
It's been a great car. Still runs like new.

They are suggesting that you bring:

Your standard tool set (Voltmeter, Compression Gauge, Tire gauge, Flashlight, Magnet, the 2
different spark plug sockets, spray lube, clean rags) Clipboard, pen and
hi-liter to use with a photocopy of this list, some cash, drivers
license and copy of your insurance showing you are covered driving the
sellers car.

Optional: tow rope, starting fluid, jumper cables, timing light, ramps,
jack (floor or scissors), mirror, coveralls, rags, gas can, oil, duct
tape, wire, repair manuals, misc.fuses, calculator

Take out all that when buying a car from me and you walk before I kick you in the ass. I mean let's be reasonable. You want to remove spark plugs? Not on your life, IDK what kind of kludge you are. You want a PPI, I'm down with that so let's go find a competent independent shop and put her up on the lift.

I usually suggest 50/50 on the PPI and both parties get a copy. There are a number of reasons why that is the most logical and equitable process. If you would like to know more, just ask.

1. Has it been under water?
2. Has it been on fire?
3. Is it stolen?
4. Did they get all the blood stains out?
