Coming soon
Don't need 700+ horsepower to get to the pool hall, but some here may feel the need to be faster than a well set up 944.
"Expect 0-60 mph launches in the mid-three-second range and quarter-mile times south of 11 seconds." https://autoweek.com/article/supercars/5-things-know-about-ford-mustang-shelby-gt500 |
I'd still rather have the GT350...
|
That thing has been absolutely brutalized with an ugly stick.
|
^ What he said. No manual for the GT500 even though the competition offers one. Ford was too lazy to build their own and said specifically that they did not want to outsource it, even though they outsourced the DCT from Tremec.

I'm with legion. If I were interested in a new one, the 350GT... |
Less than 5% of the vehicles sold in the US have manual transmissions. For good reason.
Paul, one question, and I mean this sincerely: How did you become a "pool hall" guy? When I was chasing the baseball dream in the '70's I may have tripped into a pool hall once or twice. I found them a bit sad to be honest. Things must have changed. Best. |

Paul, I know most don't buy a manual and I would understand if they said it isn't worth the development costs but the reason they specified is that did not want to outsource it.
For a toy, I would prefer a manual. There is more to life than performance at all costs. |

For a performance car of the Mustang type - way too much car for me - I'd go manual. I taught both my children to drive a manual, but they took their driving test(s) in an automatic:) |
Good thing it's fast, because it ain't pretty.
Not my cup o T |
Excuse me sir , when you are done please pass the eye bleach :D
|
I understand only 5% cars sold are auto, but that number includes mini-vans and economy cars. You would think a performance car like a Mustang would have the option of a stick... but yeah I know... stick shifts are going the way of the dodo.

What kind of stereo does it have?

1968 500. Looks like a catfish.

I do like the new 500, a lot. Contrary to popular opinion. Hints of the AC Cobra. |
Does it have the flat-plane crank? I dream of owning the 350 mostly cuz of that glorious exhaust note!

Looks to me like if they made the corners a little rounder it would look like a ace-cobra.
|
Ho hum... I’ll keep my hot rod 930. Similar performance.
|
While I prefer my old 930, I like the car.
How does a newer car like this mustang drive on the track. I read it has several suspension option and more cooling, but will it last for multiple 30 minute sessions all weekend and for years? Except for brake pads, my 930 with 400 rwhp just seemed to run and run on the track for years. |
