This in no way answers the OP's question, but:
All eggs are not layed the same, and they aren't sold by weight. I've never bought brown eggs that I can recall, so I don't know how big the eggs are that they're selling. In my experience raising chickens, brown eggs are larger, so you get more "egg" in a dozen brown eggs. We have 3 hens, a Buff Orpington, a Comet, and a Rhode Island Red, that produce an average of 2 brown eggs a day. The smallest are extra large, and our Comet Ruth lays 2.8 oz eggs - off the chart in size. We can't get Ruth's eggs into an egg carton. White factory eggs are usually "large" size, which is smaller than the eggs any of our chickens lay. A dozen of our brown eggs have a lot more "egg" than a dozen factory white eggs. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1548706134.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1548706134.jpg |

Eggs, schmeggs.
It's all about what the eggs go with. I like free range eggs with free range bacon. They talk about the nitrates being the killer but if you eat tomatos with them, the tomatos undo the evil of the bacon and the world is a beautiful place again. |
I could be a vegan...bacon is allowed right???

I provide nesting boxes for wild ducks (Black Bellied Whistling Ducks). They are big birds and lay white eggs about the same size as chickens. Have never tried to eat any. ;)
