Hope for the world yet...
I just need to say as a parent how absolutely wondrous it was that on March 12, 2003, Elizabeth Smart was found alive and returned to her family.
It shows that despite everything that seems wrong in the world, miracles can still happen. You know that little girl is getting more hugs than she can stand...which is probably a very very good thing.

What about the story of Son of Marine Deployed to Mideast Undergoes Heart Surgery.
I sincerely hope I am not speaking too soon, but I hope and pray that this year is a better year for kids than last year was. So many children like Samantha Runnion and Danielle Van Damme experienced the worst things imaginable at such a young age. Then there was the child in Missouri that came up missing and the other little girl who disappeared after her parents were murdered. And how about the girl whose mother beat the heck out of in the parking lot of that department store, in front of the cameras, so the entire world could witness it...whatever happened in that case? 2002 was definitely NOT a good year to be a kid. Let's pray that 2003 is a better one!!! Randy

I was totally in shock that she was still alive. Wow...that truely was a miracle!!
Seeing the dad talking, the look on his face, his absolutely joy, yet also the toll the past 9 months took on him & their entire family...it totally made my eyes water! It is amazing how those people who saw the suspect had it within them to act, make the call, and not think "oh..someone else will call."
