Reputable Garage Near Naples?

I am seriously considering having my '87 coupe shipped to the Naples in March for a few days of fun. I will be down there for a company event and my bosses' boss mentioned to me that it might cool to have my 911 there to a take a few drives during our stay. (I guess he thinks NC and Florida are close to each other. It is actually about 750 miles).

Thinking about having it shipped, playing with for three days and then have it shipped home. Kind of expensive, and it's not the type of thing I would usually do, but this is the boss' is boss. He isn't inclined to ask for something like this so I am sort of viewing it as a good career move. I would just need to have it parked for delivery and pick up in case the shipper is not on schedule with my time there. I would keep it overnight at the hotel during the event.

Reply or PM with any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Seems like a lot of effort for just 3 days. I'd look into borrowing or renting one in the area. Your bosses boss can come to North Carolina if he wants to ride YOUR Carrera....

I'd suggest bosses boss flys into NC and you guys can do a road trip down.

Spending 9 hours in a car one on one is a bonding experience.

Thats a career move.

I’d reach out to the guy and let him know it’s a 750 mile trip and an easy $2k in shipping. It will show you’re not a “yes” guy and demonstrate sensibility. If he’s a true enthusiast you should set up time to attend a car show or race together. That way you don’t have to worry about handling delivery logistics, hotel parking lot risks and the possibility of the whole plan backfiring.

That's an awful lot of effort to go to Naples FL, not usually famous for it's driving experiences.

Is your boss the flaky/jealous type?

Gezz, that seems a bit to ask someone to do for a joy ride. I would guess he has no idea its a 1500 mile round trip let alone in a 30+ year old car with all the trials and tribulations that could go wrong on the way.
Maybe let him know you have a mileage constraint with your classic car insurance that would prohibit a 1500 mile trip? Although if there's another event like Sebring the same weekend, might be fun. Take a detour to visit the Porsche Center in Atlanta as well.

There is also a pretty terrific museum in Naples: REVS Institute: https://revsinstitute.org/the-collection/

Plenty of Porsche cars to drool over from the Collier Collection.
