Quantum (Firefox) sucks still.

I hate Firefox still. Can't contact them to voice a complaint very easily either.

Ever since they went to Quantum it sucks. It can't keep the correct tabs that were open when I closed it. Sometimes it will be tabs from over a week ago. Had to get an extension to fix that.

The new update from a while ago now intercepts your keystrokes from inside the text box so I can't use ctrl/b ctrl/i for formatting text any longer. You used to be able to use the formatting keys in a text box and then the shortcut keys outside it. I can see why they are losing market share in the browser arena.

For all my work stuff I use Chrome, for instance all the web interfaces for our equipment and stuff like Vcenter.

I like to keep that all separate so when I take a break or have lunch I use Firefox for stuff like this forum. I hate it. Looks like it is time to go to Vivaldi full time for my non-work stuff. I would have switched earlier but there are a couple issues on this machine with buzzing during videos.

I use Chrome and Canary side by side, should do what you want. Same but different......

Opera, based on Chromium, same engine as Chrome but Opera manages memory better, it's not a pig like Chrome.

I use firefox anywhere from 6 to 12 hours a day and have none of the problems you mention

Odd. Most just started happening with the latest release.

That, and I generally have 100+ tabs open (things to read, kind of like queuing up stuff to watch in netflix.
