Baz....help me...WeedBGone?

It's gonna hit mid 60s this afternoon.....followed by the rest of winter.

Would it be wasted effort on clover, etc. this afternoon....things are pretty green.

Anyone?

Small spots of RoundUp too...

Thanks!

I'm sure Baz will have good advice.
If you have an Ag supply store nearby...Triplet works great for broadleafs and clover. Much better than WeedBgone.

One month early for me...I blame Al Gore

I'll check back in later...

Why do you want to kill the clover? It’s actually beneficial to a lawn (if this is the area of concern) as it fixes nitrogen in the soil = fertilizer.

Put down a dose of granular preemergent and weed killer yesterday (NE GA). Sometimes I think it would be easier just to grind up $60 in cash and spread it around the lawn. Expecting about the same result.

Why do we do this?

I am very conservative with this stuff....I (and my dad mostly) have some small patches so dense that grasses (fescue) can't get established....turns into brown dirt and crabgrass too by Aug.

Why do we....ask Baz ?

I just checked my Triplet label and it contains Dicamba...which is the prefered herbicide for creeping charlie. I've had it in my lawn and it is very hard to get rid of permanently. It sets down roots easily..even after being pulled.
Triplet may be a name used only in certain areas. Any brand name that contains 24D, Dicamba, and Mecoprop would be the same.

I'm not a lawn guy but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!
In short, my lawn guy says... hit it late fall and then early spring... Use Trimec.

I will pick this up....since Baz has me on ignore . The 24D is what I need for a pond that I'm ready to fill...weeds exposed (bad weeds)....a 2' snapper still lives there ...you want?

....and wait a month...Al Gore sux after today.

Been thinking of re-homeing a couple of my sliders (12inch)
A local pet shop said they would take them. I'll ask if they want a 2 foot snapper!

Trimec has the same ingredients as Triplet, but the proportions are quite a bit different.

On my gravel driveway and patio I use a “flame weeder”. Looks like something a commercial roofer might use and attached to a 2lb propane tank. This is after I spray a homemade solution: 1 gal white vinegar, 1/4 Dawn blue dish soap, 1 cup cheapest table salt available. This stuff works! Just need a dry day.
