The Binghams of Louisville

Anyone familiar w this famous American family? I've always wanted to read about them since my dad told me about them a long time ago. Apparently, my dad was a friends w one of them, I think the son who was killed in 1966. I grabbed this book from dad's shelf a few years ago when he died and just getting to it. What a family.

The Bingham family descendants were our next door neighbors during my childhood years in Honolulu. (I had the hots for Ann, who was a couple years my senior.) Aside from being among the earliest of missionary families, one of them "rediscovered" Machu Pichu.

Interesting. He may have been a sibling to William Bingham, the oldest family member in the family tree in the book, who migrated to America from Ireland the year Hiram was born. William was 25 already in 1789. It's possible, or maybe another family.
