Cannot log in to gmail - keeps redirecting
I tried to find a solution on-line, but couldn't get an answer. When I try to log on to gmail or youtube, when I press the Sign in, it keeps redirecting it to my wife's university login.
I tried clearing the cache, but don't think I cleared the right one (the Explorer download one). Any suggestions? |
Clear cookies, not cache.
And did I read that right, you are using Internet Explorer? My God man, WHY????? Install a different browser, Chrome, Firefox, anything. |
OK! I'm a creature of habit. Full disclosure - I just got the gmail recently. I've been using Hotmail for the last few decades.
BTW, how do I clear cookies? |
The same thing happens when my kids login to their school district Gmail/GDocs/Google drive account on my computer. I have to have one of them log out and in again with their account, then log out...after that it lets me login.

It's doing the same thing on Chrome!
|
OK! Success! I went to Delete Browsing History and checked the Cookies and website data box.
That allowed me to log into gmail. Thanks stomachmonkey!! switching to Chrome now. |

With Firefox, it's a History drop down menu. History/Clear Recent History/Everything. For Chrome, which I don't use anymore, just Google "How to clear browser history in Chrome?" and do that periodically. |
If security/privacy is a concern;
For browsers, I'd recommend https://brave.com. Others say https://vivaldi.com is good. For email, I'd recommend https://protonmail.com. |

Used to be a cluster **** with google but they've finally fixed it. Upper right corner, colored circle with a single letter in it. Click it, if only one account is in the list add the other/s. Then in the future when it auto logs into to the one you don't want just use the same dropdown to switch to the one you want. |
