Jonny Quest - ultimate Action Cartoon of the '60s

in the late 1960's, this is the cartoon that riveted me.

Jonny Quest.

fairly radical and advanced for it's time.

It was 1960's action comic books, introduced into Animation

a rare behind the scenes interview.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxS6FJ7UqFQ

Fav episode had to be Lasers, Scuba, Lizard Men, lotsa guns sinking ships......perfect.

If you like Johnny Quest, check out the Venture Brothers. It's premise is essentially that Johnny Quest (Rusty Venture) has grown up and dealing with the consequences of his childhood.

https://heavy.com/social/2017/03/mike-pence-barron-trump-race-bannon-johnny-question-memes/

"new trend of memes imagines Vice President Mike Pence as Race Bannon, guardian to Donald Trump's son Barron Trump, who "plays" "Johnny Quest" from the 1960s Hanna-Barbera cartoon. The memes have recently become especially popular in the subreddit "Meme Economy," which charts the rise and fall of new memes in a faux stock market fashion. Pence had already been likened to Race Bannon during the election cycle, but the new memes focus on his imaginary relationship with Trump's son, Barron. In the cartoon series, Bannon is a special agent, bodyguard, and pilot from Intelligence One, a secret government organization charged with helping Dr. Benton C. Quest, Johnny Quest's father. In the series, he is also a tutor to Johnny. The meme takes this tone, picturing Pence as an authority figure helping Barron take up the conservative cause in a variety of memes that some may consider offensive. Above, Pence and Barron are shown fighting "illegal aliens," pictured as real aliens."

Can't really argue.

And by today's standard 'Hadji' was a bit of a racist stereotype character

+1 Best show growing up. 3rd/4th grade.

Outstanding.

This episode scared me as much as the flying monkeys in Wizard of Oz. I think Race took it out.

He was, and now he is THE VP

How come they don't make cartoons as good as the 1960's cartoons?

Wal mart had a Johnny Quest complete dvd set for $15 last year.

Pick it up. Well worth it. The creepy Sargasso Sea frogmen episode is still my favorite.

Was amazed to learn there were episode I hadn’t seen.

I used to love Johnny Quest back in the 1980s. I could tell it was vintage back then, but it was so bad ass, I loved it, especially the Navy frogmen.

There was a weird cartoon based on Little Orphan Annie, with Daddy Warbucks and a bad ass named "Asp".

Also the Blue Falcon, and Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle. And Speed Racer.

Checked IMDB and Matheson had a long and busy career. Still working.

He was also the voice of Jace in Space Ghost but I am not familiar with that series.
