What else can the iWatch do?

I won an iWatch through a contest at work. I have no idea what else to use it for except for time keeping. What sucks about that is I have to charge it every other day. My analog watch’s battery is good for at least 1 year. I’m thinking this iWatch thing is just hype.

If you have one, please let me know if you use it for anything else. Thanks!

I believe there is a 9-1-1 function that detects slip n falls, and works wherever there is phone reception.

Can't vouch for the iWatch but it should do stuff my Fenix3 does. I thought the smart watch thing was hype till my GF got me one.

Here's a few. On the back of the pickup feeding hay if my phone rings in my pocket my watch buzzes and tells me who's calling. It also mirrors texts I get. That's incredibly handy. If your hands are full and you don't want to stop what you are doing to pull out your phone you just look at your wrist.

Mine also runs any bluetooth stereo, so I can at the push of a button on the side of my watch change songs and such.

Mine's a little more outdoorsy so I have real time barometer, altimeter, average steps. Waypoints ect. I can also connect to my hunting dogs GPS collar so I can see if she's on point without pulling out the big hulky GPS reciever.

Anyway your's should at least signal you if you get phone calls or texts which I now enjoy quite a bit.-WW

You can do alarm clock stuff, calendar reminders, etc.
Lots of health related stuff; there’s a few ECG apps to see your heart rate over time in a day.
If you have sleep problems you could get an app to monitor your sleep patterns
Answer and make calls, speakerphone, etc.
Talk into your watch just like a sci fi movie
Basically anything your phone can do, without the annoying phone in your hand.

I think you really need an iPhone to get the most use from it. I don't know that since I don't have an iWatch.

I think one member posted here that the heart monitor/alarm saved their life.

If it's a series 4 pay the extra $80.00 for Apple Care +.

That'll get you two screen replacements due to accidents for a $69.00 service fee per service.

If not and you break the screen it's $300.00, may as well just buy a new one at that point.

Ask my 15 yr old how I know.:mad:

Yep

do you have an iPhone?
Does your watch have the cell service or not?

Those two things make a big difference.

Here are some ways I use mine.

1. Calendar alerts if I don;t have my phone RIGHT THERE.
2. Excercise/activity monitor. Keeps me honest about how active I am.
3. Airline boarding passes. Phone can stay in the bag.
4. Quick check if a text is important or not.
5. Timers/countdowns
6. Quick check of temp when I get ready in the morning.

I don;t mind charging it. You set you watch on the nightstand every night right? Set it on the charger on the nightstand. Easy.

I like it - monitors my activity - links to my calendar - texts come into both - weather etc. very helpful

When people call me who have an iWatch, I keep saying "what what what?" until they pick up the phone, haha

I have the series 4 but no cell service on the watch. I have an iPhone. I'm going you tube how to set up the watch with all the features you guys mentioned. Thanks!

Double click the side on/off switch to make a credit card payment at merchants with apple pay. Receive/make phone calls and text without pulling your phone out of your pocket (e.g. driving). Use SIRI to pull up other apps. If you don't want/can't justify the extra cellular charge (~$10/mnth on AT&T) you can just use the bluetooth connection.

The cell feature is really nice for me. Check with your carrier. Some carriers dont cost anything to add to your service. Mine charges $5/mo. It doesnt get its own number, but piggybacks on the cell phone somehow, yet doesnt need to have the phone nearby. It will actually connect to cell towers. Im a jogger, and its great because I can go for a run without the phone, but still get calls and text, and most importantly, stream music to BT earphones.
