New Mazda CX-30 What do you think?

I want to like it, but dang, that's a lot of plastic along the bottom!

I’m also not a fan of the cladding but it’s nice otherwise. Interior looks really great. But I have to wonder, why do they need an SUV between the CX3 and CX5?

UX, NX and RX,

Yeah, I don't understand the need for another one in between, but the dimensions put it right between the two. It's not like the CX-5 is large.

I love my Mazdas, and our 2012 CX-9 (bought new late 2013) is our third I've owned and who knows how many among friends and family.

But they aren't built like they used to be - plastic body parts are falling off of ours, wife is having issues on her right rear wheel well, her drivers side sun visor dropped out of the game a while back, etc. Hitting a buzzard did $1800 in damage to the front quarter, and a smallish Florida doe (100lbs or so) that headbutted her drivers door at the hinge did another $1000.

Mechanically seem to be holding up to the 20k/y the wife puts on it, but the plastic body stuff is leaving a lot to be desired. May be our last Mazda... haven't seen similar issues on our Nissans, plenty of them in the family too.

As for sizing, the 3 is a smaller sedan replacement, the 5 is a regular sedan, the 7 doesn't get you much beyond the 5 and the 9 makes it tolerable for a family of 5. Should've dropped the 7 not the 9.

Seems like most new cars are all ate up with ugly.

Please, less SUVs. Please.
