Mexican food in Seattle? You have to be from Kansas to think they have good Mexican...especially when you come from Taco town to begin with..

Lived here all my life, and still have never seen what some people claim.

We do have some decent Mexican here. Here's one here.

Particularly, the Baby Burrito. It's the size of a newborn baby.

I believe you met my GF, Tabs, when the four of us went to dinner. Pretty much all she cooks is Mexican cuz..well.. Hola!

Here's another.

Lots of good advice in this thread.

Lesse, top things I tell visitors:
-early morning go to vivace espresso, Sundays is single origin
- about 7 or so hit the pike place market and watch it wake up. Breakfast at café campagna. The lamb burger is great but everything is good.
- lunch salumi mentioned above, get a meatball sandwich and a porcetta and split them. The culatello sandwich is really good too.
- dinner at harvest vine
- locks are fun
- ride a ferry to Bainbridge? Probably the best way to see the area
- walk around greenlake?
- visit alki?

Not a great time of year to visit, trails in the mountains are all snowy.

Incredible advice! Thanks to all.

We arrived Friday just after lunchtime. Took the light rail from Seatac to the International station near downtown. Walked 10 minutes to our hotel (Embassy Suites) - it was all seamless. I used points and splurged on a corner room.

We walked to the docks and had happy hour at Ivar's and left by 4:30 as the place started getting busy. Tourist splurge - rode the ferris wheel. I'm terrified of heights but my wife forced me :) We then walked up into town, past gum wall (Post Alley), a quick peek at Pike Place Market, then back to the hotel room and enjoyed wine with the night time view.

Today we had coffee and pastry in a cool place on Occidental and took the morning Bainbridge ferry. Not much of a view departing the city but the return at 1:00 PM was awesome! Lunch (split a Salmon sandwich and a couple beers) at the Harbor Public House after walking 2 hours was great.

We are now heading out for a couple bars and some food for the evening. I decided to rent a car for tomorrow. First time using SilverCar - so we need to take the light rail back to SEA to pick it up. Only have it for the day, was thinking of driving to Mt. Rainier/Paradise but the roads may be hosed...still debating. Any thoughts of an alternate scenic drive... Northern Cascades Rockport loop? Mountains to Sound Greenway?

A drive to Snoqualmie falls lodge would be close. The waterfall is something to see.
Chuckanut drive up north an option. Take the ferry to Port Townsend. Mt Rainer may
be a push time wise. Some of the passes are probably still closed. The North Cascades
are stunning, Diablo lake is on that drive, emerald green water.

Remember to turn your clocks ahead 1 hour tonight. Daylight savings time starts
tonight.

Ya missed the Porsche Cars&Coffee this morning... just south of downtown. Apparently, around 100 cars showed up.
