Going Your Own Way

The United States has been corrupt for so long that the people in power who knew the difference between right and wrong have all passed away. Now corruption has become the endemic "conventional wisdom" in conducting business. They know no different.

While a person who knew the difference between right and wrong could act corruptly they were under no illusion that what they were doing was ethically or morally wrong. This knowing then set boundaries on just how far they would go to meet what they felt were exigencies of the time. For example while both FDR and Churchill knew that Germany was committing industrial genocide they decided not to hinder the Germans in any way (even bombing of the railway line to the Death Camps). Later it became obfuscation in the name of National Security because of the seriousness of having nuclear weaponry and the Cold War.

Today every Executive branch or bureaucrat claims National Security as a matter of course when being questioned even about trivial matters. There isn't any truth anymore just smoke and mirrors to avoid culpability and holding miscreants accountable. On the other side of the coin accusations are used as a partisan weapon to slander and hinder the political opposition. Till we have reached a point of stalemate where neither side trusts the other and a Mexican standoff has occurred.

All of this nether world reality has set the United States outside of the boundaries of the ethical and moral behavior. Which then allows bad decisions to be made which lead to bad outcomes. It all just becomes one giant cluster fk, when you are out of sync with the human moral compass which has been established over the millennium. If you are of mind you can call it having bad Karma.

The prognosis is that it will be a continual escalation of not doing right leading to the ruin of the nation. There is nothing to indicate it will be otherwise.

In addition, it shocks me how many youngsters are caught on video thinking they can make up their own laws or cry no fair

Look on youtube for "Getting detained..."
or "citizens getting owned..."

I Hope these aren't future policy makers or leaders

You know it is just a matter of time before they become the leaders...with that I get the dismal feeling that the kids think Socialism is all right with them. All the young Bernie followers and now Cortez gives credence to that feeling.

The reason being is that, as opportunity for a comfortable lifestyle of plenty is beyond their grasp and disappears they will turn to a method that seemingly guarantees them a modicum of achieving that status. The government through social engineering will guarntee them an equitable distribution of the swag. In the end it always has been a failure, as there are only so may haves. When the haves finally realize that they are being had they stop producing and or move to friendlier climates.

The Democrat Party is the epitome of absolute political corruptness which contravenes the democratic process. HRC bought the DNC when she paid their bills, they had to find 3 shills to run against her to show that it wasn't a coronation of her being the standard bearer of the Democrat Party for president. Only Bernie got any traction which came as a surprise and put fear in HRC's heart that she could be upset again. That happened when the young people came out in unsuspected droves to vote for Bernie. In the end they paid him off with a 500K house. Yet that explains why so many Democrats are now ready and willing to adopt the Socialist mantra of the hard left. More to come as the the economic fortunes of the American people slip away into a now fading glorious past.

I would even suspect that Bill Clinton helped persuade Trump to give it a shot to roil the Republican Party in 2016. The Republican Party is not one of virtue either having grown used to having large government and the attendant monies involved. Yet the Republicans don't suffer from the same level of corruption which is evident in that the complete OUTSIDER unexpectedly won the nomination of the party. Trump upset all the vested interests in the Republican party completely eclipsing the Bush and Reagan die hard's.

The Trump persona is the archetype face of the contemporary ugly every man American. A Bombastic bully who is arrogant crude, dictatorial, greedy, grasping, illiterate, ill informed, womanizing, self aggrandizing con man bender of truth par excellence... Trump is simply the Greatest. Trump represent the American Zeitgeist..he is the face that Americans see in the mirror ...

I hate Fleetwood Mac with such a passion that I would put my immortal soul at risk in order to never hear their insipid lyrics again.

If you separate policy from personality and competence from position, the truth will reveal itself to you and the truth will set you free.

I really like driving my 914! SmileWavy

Driving a 914 is the antithesis of Fleetwood Mac.

But traveling twice the speed of sound, it’s easy to get burned.

At less than Mach .90 I assume you’ll understand.

That is basically a perfect character sketch of our Bullshiiter in Chief, and the "archetype face of the contemporary ugly everman American" idea of yours is supported by the willingness of the masses to excuse the guy with such things as, "but but, the stock market, but but, the wall, but but, the Hilda, etc.".

I am referencing the Burdick, Lederer 1958 novel "The Ugly American."

If you think I am referencing Fleetwood Mac you are not very smart.

What I am referencing is "If we do not do right, then God will let us go our own way to ruin." Abraham Lincoln.

At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide..Lincoln

I am sorry.

"Towering genius disdains a beaten path. It seeks regions hitherto unexplored. — It sees no distinction in adding story to story, upon the monuments of fame, erected to the memory of others. It denies that it is glory enough to serve under any chief. It scorns to tread in the footsteps of any predecessor, however illustrious. It thirsts and burns for distinction."
A Lincoln
