These look amazing! Did you protect the brass or will you let it oxidize?

I cleaned them up a bit with Barkeepers Friend then rattle canned them with some clear lacquer

I installed some front tow hooks on my F150. I looked into buying a 4WD front valance, that already has the cutouts, and while the part was cheap, the shipping was over $400. 🤪

I used my oscillating saw, and it took about an hour. I still need to clean up the cuts and open up the top some.

I've been using a GoPro suction clamp mount to mount cameras on my LGB train for on-board videos, but it isn't what I call camera aiming friendly.
I won the auction and got about to mounting the ball head to a piece of plexiglass that would fit in the compartment of a freight car I was given last year.
It works pretty well now that I've got the balance worked out. The camera needs to be in the center of the car or it will cause it to derail going around a corner.
Works well and is pretty stable too.

Some good luck today or maybe bad however you look at it. Our 99 tahoe crapped out while pulling in the driveway after driving around for 3 hours this morning doing errands. Fuel pump isnt running. Back end was sticking out in the road so i pulled it up to the garage with my jeep. Havnt had time to diagnose it yet but did the fuel pump maybe 10 or 12 years ago it seemed like a cheap one always pretty loud. Also fixed my snowblower. I got it for free turned out the auger gearbox is stripped out both the brass gear and worm are bad. Its an ariens 10 or 15 years old with an aluminum box. I have a bunch of old cast iron boxes from 70s and 80s blowers that i saved from ones i scrapped. Turns out one bolted right in no mods at all

I'm making trinkets for some friends. I thought I'd get out the jewelers saw and see if my hand-eye coordination could keep up with my imagination.
The first part is going OK, we'll see how well this project progresses.

Got the fuel pump swapped out my brother had a spare one. The ring that locks it down was just rust and so are the tabs on the tank so iv got to make some sort of hold down clamp to the floor. We have a pannel cutout under the back seat for easy access.

Was wondering if you had to drop the tank....good idea with the panel. Did you put it there or was it already there when you got your 'hoe?

On my Silverado I prop the bed up. Still a PITA. I've seen pickup owners who put hatches in on theirs. I'm not doing that to a perfectly good bed....

I found that little bugger in a free pile! It works perfectly, the limiting factor is my skill. The material is soft copper, about .020 or .030.

A friend of mine had 4 old boards in his attic. About six and a half feet long and 17" wide. Rough sawn and five quarter. Been stored for 70 years or more by his grandfather who supposedly brought them home from Asia. He knows I'm a wood guy and he asked if I wanted them or he was going to cut them up for firewood. As soon as I picked one up I said you're not burning these. Very heavy and I knew they were something special. Some splitting from heat in the attic and not stickered properly but I'll put it to good use. I ripped up a split board and ran them through the planer. Rainy day project yesterday. I pulled apart a split board by hand and noticed the curve in the grain. I had a beat up 4lb. sledge head that needed a handle. Got a little carried away and I probably will not be hitting stuff with this hammer.

Very cool ! Every time I fix a wood handle they dont hold up very long I guess im doing it wrong.
Heres the fuel pump you can see the hatch i cut and the brace to hold it down. I wedged it in with rubber pieces and screwed them in place.

Cool, it does look like mine. I tried to research the year on mine but apparently it's older than the records. No number. The guy I got it from said his dad brought it out from NY in 1951 but had it forever before then. I'm guessing 1930s. Very solid drill press. I’m not sure about the age of mine either. Yours looks to be in better shape, with better paint. Yours also has the drill stop on the right.

I saw that. My table goes up and down by hand OK, but to move the head up, I use a hydraulic jack. That sucker is heavy.

Yeah the motor is heavy. Mine generally stays at the top. If I have to move it down I use a piece of 2x4 on the scissor. I bolted the scissor jack to the base and made a small hand crank for fast and accurate depth adjustments. Your press must be even older than mine with no depth stop up top. With some fabrication you could add one. It's a handy feature
