On a smaller scale, I sprayed some primer on the little Armored Car body yesterday. I also sprayed the body with some Krylon "Banner Red" this morning, but the color is just too dark, not what I was wanting. After 10 years and 2,500+ hard miles, it is time to give the shocks on my Polaris Razr some love. After three days of riding in Moab, I am not using it for a month or so. Its a good time to pull it apart and send the shocks in.
The place rebuilds them, valving them for how I ride, my weight with a passenger etc. and I am having them put new progressing springs on it. The hardest part was figuring out how to put the jack stand on the back, lol. Lots of cracking around the snout, and the fitment of the top and bottom was less than ideal. I ended up grinding back and pottiing the halves together, using glass cloth and smoosh/splooge with t-88, mill fibers and long strand cf. Herr O. Thanks, as it happens I'm one of probably a few people that isn't bothered by working with it, and resin, AND sanding it. Most hate glass work because of the sanding alone. Maybe that's why I'm "the guy " lol

Can appreciate what you're saying Guy, as someone who worked at a surfboard factory on my summers off from college in the early 70's.
I kind of understand why someone might shy away from this work because of the fumes and dust particles - but wearing PPE will do a decent job of protecting one's health. And then you get into the messy type of work it is. Whatever - like many things we do while growing up it all comes back into play at some point or another. I haven't gotten to my fairings work yet but am anxious to get there. I have a LOT of fairings and quite a few are in need of some patching. Yesterday I patched a small hole in the radiator of my latest acquisition with some JB Weld. Will probably sand it a bit and then paint silver. This part isn't visible once the fairings go on, luckily. Uh, I'm just not happy with this, so I took it back apart, and the die-cast body is back in the paint stripper. I'm going to see what it looks like in Matte Black instead. Lol. I have thought about tan as well. I think that color would look good. I have some matte black and will try that, but tan or khaki would also look great. Thanks for the idea.
