Fact.

In LA County alone healthcare cost to taxpayers for illegals 1B per year. This published by left LA Times.

Illegals take resources from taxpayers at an unsustaible rate. Not just tax dollars. Come to Santa Ana and see the overrun hospitals, schools, drains on fire, police from the massive illegal population there.

Please what facts support your feelings?

Or do you buy that garbage that they, the undocumented / unauthorized, are eligible for public assistance?

I know for a fact that in a local, Florida small town, known for potatoes and ferns, lost their local hospital because high cost of illegals that flooded it, look at schools, they are hurting and there is no damn reason in the world why the DMV should publish drivers handbooks in any other language than English.

First, I think the illegal alien population is much higher than the 11-12M number that is bandied about by the media. Recent estimates put it at 2 or more times that many.

I hear on the news the other day a border patrol spokesperson that mentioned they estimate that they catch only 1/2 to 1/3 of all that try to cross. It used to be half, lately they think it's closer to 1/3.

As for the public assistance, I think everyone agrees that illegals do receive help in many forms. The cost to taxpayers has been estimated to be a pretty high number.

The good news there won't be anyone left to work the fields. Win win for you right?

The legal immigrants are still available.

Clearly you do not understand the difference between illegal and legal. Do you lock your doors you have fence in your yard?

livi 03-21-2019 10:29 AM

Just go ahead and pay the Mexican drug lords a handsome fee for stopping people on the Mexican side. I bet they could rally up a patrol on every 100 meters in no time.

Thus my idea of opening a chain of casinos, no doubt the drug lords would run the show like old Vegas and they don't take any crap.

To quote TD, logical fallacy:cool:

The fact is, when the laws are enforced things change - like in Washington State. Will Guest Workers be more expensive?

Yes.

I spoke with a number of large growers in Washington State and they now compete for workers from Mexico and other countries because the penalties for using illegal aliens are harsh - as it should be. I have pictures of the air conditioned buses and the new dormitories they had to build to house the workers.

In fact, we met in one of the new dormitories.

The "Wall" is a series of efforts in my mind, not just a physical barrier; including border enforcement, immigration reform(s), enforcement of immigration laws to include those that hire illegals, etc.

Actually, recent reports put the number lower.

That 2x's or more number comes from one Yale study that used a very simple calculation to arrive at their estimate.

Problem with it is it's the only one that comes near that number and is only supported by itself when compared to the numerous yearly independent studies done for decades that by and large came to the same conclusion.

Put another way, a whole lot of independent people would have to have been really really wrong a whole bunch times over decades vs this Yale dude getting it right, once.

Agreed, my opinion is we should be tackling it in the reverse order.

Work on other stuff and we may find we need far less wall than currently proposed.

Or we may find we need the whole thing.

Start putting business owners who hire illegal aliens in jail and you'll see illegal immigration decline dramatically.

It would certainly be a good start.

Heavy fines for transporting, sheltering or providing housing for them would help as well.

Google is your friend.

Let say for kicks that I am factual correct. And, I am. The illegals are sucking the system dry. Even the LA Liberal Times said it. Housing, schools, hospitals, police, fire jails all strained directly by our 1M illegals in LA County alone. This is a fact. The net loss to providing for unskilled, poor health uneducated people is not hard to comprehend.

What is your answer to these facts?

This issue is not that we are not compassionate and dont want to help. But when your lifeboat is full, and it is (22T Fed debt.) tough choices have to be made. How many is too many?

We could start with the sanctuary cities.
