Android OS
This should be a softball for some of the folks here.
My company has teamed with another company to build and fly this: ![]() It is a ducted fan UAS that can free fly or be tethered. The commercial version is called Sora. The Sora in the picture is a Chem/bio sniffer for air sampling after accidents involving chemicals. The DoD version is called Watchman and will support DHS, etc. We have been approached by a firm that has some communications software we are very interested in. Their app runs on Android 8.0. I would like to get a used phone that supports Android 8.0 so we can play with it with Sora. Any suggestions? I have only owned iPhones. Thanks in advance!

Paul,
If you had asked 2 weeks ago, I would have sent you my Google Nexus 6P. I did just trade it in on a new phone. I would think you might want to have a larger screen. The 6P does run Android 8 (Oreo). You can pickup a refurbished 6P off on Amazon for about $85. https://www.amazon.com/Huawei-Nexus-6P-Unlocked-Smartphone/dp/B015YCRZ1K |

Don't bother with anything but a Samsung or Google pixel.
I just checked, there are currently 2,275 8.0 devices on the market, 2,475 if you include 8.1 and 9 Point being, developers don't, because we can't, test them all so for QA we stick with the largest install base by manufacturer and the let the rest of the chips fall where they may.

Maybe grab something like a used Note 8. Big screen, good performance (processor/RAM/memory), microSD slot, etc. |
