Can You Guess Where?

For this weekend's contest, here are some photos of a notable Porsche location. Can you guess where? If no one calls it, I might add a more obvious photo. First one with the correct answer wins.... great esteem!! :)

Brainerd?

MRM 03-30-2019 05:25 PM

It sure looks like the area around Brainerd, but I don’t know what connection Brainerd has specifically with Porsche. I’ve certainly never seen a Porsche collection like that anywhere near Brainerd, but I may not be fully informed.

Elkhart Lake?

Mid Ohio

Not entirely random guess

Harry Dog Grrrage

I googled the 036 and 157 cars.

Are you in the mid-west picking up that 'stang?

LOL

(I would have guessed Brainerd, as well, from the bonus picture. But other than some Car & Driver editor racing/winning in some street stock 944, I'm also not familiar what that track has in connection with Porsche.)

Not Emorys. I've been there. Down the street.

What’s the name of the shop? The only guy I know that is known for 356 outlaws is Rod.

Rod's dad Gary started the "outlaws" thing in Oregon. Rod moved to where the deep pockets money was.

To the pics? I'll guess Wayne's garage...

The answer was already revealed above. The pictures are from Connecticut. That explains the cold weather and tree cover but it doesn’t explain the Minnesota license plate.

Rockfan4, Congratulations! I guess we have to give it to you, since the 'official rules' don't prohibit 'google' (they will in future)! :-)

You win the Pelican Player Award, granting positive plosive public plaudits and esteem from fellow Pelicans, in whatever measure they choose to grant it!

Favorable mention goes to MRM for positing the perspicacious and pertinent question pertaining to the car from Minnesota!

Thanks for playing!

Final pics, with Dan himself placed in the cockpit.

I recall MN plates having blue numbers and letters and would bet Brainerd has a fair bit more snow cover on the ground and not so many Maple trees.

MRM 03-31-2019 09:00 AM

I took the CT license plate on the black Boxster to be from Minnesota. They do look similar but the difference is obvious. Right now the weather and ground around here looks a lot like the picture. The snow has mostly melted but it's still pretty cold and dreary. My wife and I have often commented on how much CT looks like Minnesota and Wisconsin. Brainerd isn't far enough north to be covered with pines the way Minnesota is farther north. They have a lot of ash, maple and oak.
